They’re music is what people go to see them for and judged by the amount of tickets they sell and critique response to these shows they really don’t have to move with the times.

again, going back to my point any act you can think of that’s come along since 2009 that can put a show on like that?

Dozens of bands/artists have put on better stage shows, which isn't hard when you're stage show is standing still singing and playing instruments. It's a staging from the 90s rather one from the modern era which is why they come across as a pub band.

A lot of people are happy with bands turning up and ripping through their hits. And the thing with Oasis which puts them above 99% of everybody else is no matter what 20-25-song set they put together, everyone inside the stadium will know every single word. They've got about 40 hits.

Some people need visuals and theatrics to enjoy a show. I guess you're in that category.

Yeah, staging from the ‘90s was useless…

Went to the gig on Friday in Cardiff with about 15 mates, whole day was like a big historic event/football cup final for atmosphere...arrived on the train shortly after midday and most pubs were already busy!

The mass hysteria when they came on stage will live with me for a long time.

Great gig, whole production was on point, however NG and LG didn't speak to each other on stage, and as others have said its clearly a money grab due to NG divorce and LG starting to run out of money!

Went Saturday - was the most joyous 2 hours. The never ending sing along, everyone in the stadium singing album tracks and b-sides from 30 years ago.

Saw little to no nobbish behaviour, around us it seemed mainly to be teens with parents or younger people (that's under 30's to me!) - all loving it. Anyway, the laddish bore culture only seemed to attach itself to Oasis the more their music declined, this was how I remember Knebworth being - full of youngsters singing their hearts out. Not full of coked up groups of blokes.

Loved every second. They sounded great, band sounded great, Liam sounded great. Great set list too. All the paper reports were right.

I think you’re trying too hard to be contrary. Lots of people are happy going to see a band for the music, the songs. I’ve seen Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Dua Lipa etc live recently and they were all great but not everybody needs flashing wristbands, lasers and loads of dancers. I know that seems to be the expectation of the modern pop fan but sometimes it is just about the music and the collective experience.

It looks like they have put the effort in, even if it’s a cash grab at least they are trying to earn it.

I mean that's it isn't it.  They've never been a demonstrative or particularly mobile or interactive band.  Main thing is that it sounded good, which it sounds like it did.

That and the setlist not being stacked with latter career duds.

Interesting comment about the demographic of the crowd and good to hear! I can see how this would make the gigs much better

They never really used to interact that much on stage though did they? I think the footage of them coming out hand in hand and bowing to each other at the end of night 2 indicates they are on good terms, that was more than I expected to see.

Yep, was put off going to see them a bit after Finsbury Park in 02 (I think), as it was a horrid gig. But this genuinely felt like it was packed full of people who felt either really lucky to be able to see them again, or lucky to be able to see a band they never thought they'd ever get to see again.

Haha yeah that Finsbury Park gig was moody as f**k!

Nothing like that in Cardiff on Saturday, just pure joy and celebration, what a night...

Anybody know if an extra act is going to be added to the bill for Heaton Park this weekend? Doors at 3pm (5pm for Cardiff), so either Cast & Ashcroft are gonna get longer sets, or another band will appear (or both I guess)?

Won't be another act at this point.

I just assumed the times would be the same as Cardiff, though I hadn't clocked that doors are 3.

Went to Cardiff on Friday. Decent seats , very mixed demographic (I took my daughter) and a great atmosphere, a few drinks flying about but nothing nasty. (I was at Finsbury 02 🙂 ).
An absolute blast of an evening- loved it.
Seeing them in NJ in September too.
