    2024 Headliners

Hi guys 🙂 checking in for the first time in a while, who’s the big 4 looking like now?
  2. This. Me and my partner hardly ever eat out these days and have had to make cuts across the board. Glastonbury will be our main “holiday” next summer as it was last summer, other things have had to be cut. One consequence of it all is that this year was probably the least worried I’ve been about getting tickets, because for us if we missed out we would’ve had a nice amount of money to try something new with and that would’ve been okay. I chose to let the ticket gods decide and we’re off to Glastonbury again but so long as the COL situation is as it is I won’t be overly worried on the prospect of missing out and having to take a relaxing holiday somewhere instead 😂
  3. Not sure if it’s ever been a rumour but Tom Jones has just ruled himself out with some tour dates. A shame as he’s active over the festival and would be a great legends slot imo. He’s free on Friday and Saturday but not sure where he’d fit in

    Jibbing?

23 was much less crowded than 22 but still above pre-COVID levels IMO

    2024 Headliners

It’s not a trio that I would be hugely excited by but I think each act is feasible and makes a lot of sense.

    2024 Headliners

First time looking at this thread since getting my tickets on Sunday 😄 Am I the only person that thinks the Daily Mail leak was probably bang on the money? 😕
  7. I can’t access the link when retrieving my registration details. Does this mean my registration is one of those affected? I get the correct details when I put my email in but cannot use the link to view the registration
  8. Interesting point. I wonder how many people giving the festival sh*t on Twitter would have been impacted tonight and on Sunday and had their chances ruined due to this issue without even knowing why
  9. Ridiculous that’s there people on here who still make out that the festival is 10x / 20x oversubscribed when they’ve been able to get tickets year after year after year. The festival demand is a lot lower than people believe and it’s not outside the realm of possibility that the festival were slightly concerned it might not sale out immediately.
  10. Whatever their reasoning is for this (we’ll never know the full story), it does look like we were gearing up for an easy sale 😞 Think they’ll either be concerned that it’s not going to sell out immediately and this will affect them financially - remember that the Eavii have always said it’s absolutely vital the festival sells every ticket - and open them up to a world of shite from the press. Or they might be worried about the demographic of the crowd being shifted too much. I have no idea really, but it’s a huge call. I’ll never talk bad about the festival but this is a huge call
  11. Do you need to refresh to see the coach links or can you just wait on the screen until they come up?
  12. I wasn’t there but some of The Verve videos I’ve seen looked pretty good? 12 songs is disappointing though. I’ve often wondered why RA has never appeared at G in the last 5 festivals, he’s been pretty active during that period and has done other festivals. Perhaps some bad blood following that performance?
  13. Why was Gorillaz so bad? Before my time.
  14. Nothing but add but just here to say that I am f*cking dreading it already
  15. I’ve always felt like with the SEC that about 50% of the people down there are just walking through looking for something to do. I think most people stay less than an hour. The festival are clearly trying really hard with the SH improvements to prevent this but late night people just seem to gravitate towards it still.
  16. Wonder what we’ll be looking at for 2024?
  17. Yep same here. The heat. I still think the crowds are a bit more intense than pre covid. A lot of clashes or partial clashes which meant we had to leave things early. It feels like a lot of running around for not a lot of music. Also felt impossible to see anything before 2am if you’re watching a headliner. This is just my experience tho and I do tend towards more popular acts. I made this point when people were moaning about the line up. You only need 3/4 things per day and even that’s doing well.
  18. Yeah with summers clearly getting hotter each year the festival will need to adapt. We saw consistent temperatures above 35 in 2022 and the festival is not at all adapted to deal with these. Would be a health disaster. Granted that the end the of June isn’t generally the temperature peak for UK summers but even 30 would be unbearable. I think we’ll see adaptations to the site in future years.
  19. Nowt to do with be working class or middle class, this! If you can’t be decent to the people around you then a “hardened festival goer” you are not. You’re just a soft, selfish tw*t! when I see a group that are drinking hundreds of pounds worth of beer, sniffing hundreds of pounds worth of drugs, wearing hundreds of pounds worth of designer gear and leave behind hundreds of pounds worth of stuff, it doesn’t exactly scream working class. Whatever “class” you are you should be good to those around you
  20. Yeah it absolutely needs pointing out now. The festival have gotta sort it out and the punters deserve a little better now the prices are so much higher. With the current numbers on site, the next mudbath festival is going to make 2016 look like a sunny utopia. I think that’ll be the watershed moment, better for them to sort it out before that happens
  21. Because I can’t do buggar all about it, so what’s the point? I have one priority and one priority only whilst I’m at the festival and that’s making sure that I and the people around me are having a good time. If I let things like that wind me up then it’s only going to negatively affect my own experience. It’s a lot of planning, money, effort and time between deciding you want to go and actually being there. I simply refuse to let anything get on my nerves whilst I’m there
  22. It’s not popular on here but I like the ballot idea. Especially more than the recent “no payment required” method which basically removes any ability to play the game and will make it easier for influencers etc to get tickets. Open the ballot registration window for a few hours on a Sunday morning announced at short notice. Find out if you’re lucky the following Sunday. Sign up in groups of 4 max, if one of you gets picked then everyone in your group goes. Groups of 1 get their names entered 4 times. Groups of 2 x 2. Those who have been continuously unlucky can get prioritised in future sales much like what they used to do with the London marathon. It could work
  23. Seems to be a bit of an elephant in the room on efests this but there are clearly 20k or so people on site each year who have gotten in without a ticket. I’m obviously not talking about workers or anything here but people who have been snuck in or got in by other means. it’s one of the main causes of the overcrowding issues the fest are experiencing, which is causes issues throughout the site listed previously (lack of camping space, long queues, lack of shaded areas) needs sorting ASAP or is going to lead to a disaster at the next muddy festival. I am no grass and got no issues with people who jib it Saw a couple runners at gate D on weds and wanted them to make it. Ultimately it’s on the festival to sort it out and I do think the overcrowding is diluting the festival experience we all love and all paid a lot of money for
