The excitement of having a 1-2 I actually want to see. Pleeaasse Emily make it happen.

By my reckoning, it'll be the first time I've deliberately done a 1-2 on the Pyramid since 2008..

I'm installing updates on a server so have time on my hands, so i thought i'd see how many times i've done that:

2023 - lil nas x > Elton (only cos we all got there early for Elton)

2022 - High Flying Birds > Macca

2019 - Vampire Weekend > The Cure

2014 - Jack White > Metallica

2013 - Dizzee > Arctics

2011 - Morrisy > U2 , wish i hadn't bothered with morissy though, borish

2007 - Kaiser Cheifs > The Who

2005 - a triple! Doves > Killers > White Stripes

1999 - Underworld > Manics

loads more than I thought, though most of them are when I was with big groups of friends, so tagged along.

Noel > McCartney had my lower back in tatters. Think I made it 6 hours I was stood in the pit for it. Was also the year I was at the back end of the Campervan field - staggered back after it. One or my most cherished memories from all the years of going though.

Primal Scream before the Stones went down like a lead balloon. Bobby wasn't happy.

We're getting Pulp here, surely?

Me too!! I was at back of pit.  Got there towards end of Haim, so was 6+ hours stood rooted to the spot as it was so rammed.  I desperately wanted to stretch my legs or bend my back a bit, but no room - LOL!

This info/something you’ve heard or just speculation cause they’re touring? Pulp subbing Neil (the slot I assume they’d be most likely in) would be an all timer sub/head combo.

Probably don't need to clear it up now but the dates announced today was my info

Absolutely mega 1-2 that. Incredible day but by the end of Macca i was hopping between both feet as i'd had my converse on and my feet were killing!

I think if they did some juggling and Pulp was Other on Friday with 1975 and Charli on Pyramid to save on crowding that would work. But youre still asking for a ramming of Pulp to Charli though  unless they think loads will stick around for Neil Young.

Not a snake's chance of that.

Right now, feels like:

The 1975 / ???

Loyle Carner

Neil Young / Pulp

Charli XCX

Olivia Rodrigo / Duran Duran

The Prodigy

Let me stress, absolutely no basis for Pulp, Charli XCX, Duran Duran or The Prodigy outside of date speculation. Loyle Carner info was dropped shortly after the info for The 1975, I think?

Tbf it does sound like the noise for Biffy Clyro and Paramore has now been dialled back. Maybe new names will surface in the dueness of course.

    • Muse new album out soon , European tour announcement for Nov and Dec, no Spanish date and north American tour starts in July and in North America for all of July and August. So primavera and Glastonbury
    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
