Interesting. I put Murmur right up there, but then I have much more of a preference for Michael's earlier vocal work. But then I find with REM it can entirely depend on what mood I'm in on the day as to which album is my favourite.

And FWIW, I still absolutely adore Pablo Honey 😂

I listened to Pablo Honey the other day after hearing Blossoms excellent cover (I'm not a Blossom fan generally) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yeah for sure that is true. I was gutted when I missed out but then I saw the headliners and thought 'at least I didn't miss out there too much' and managed to get tickets for 2025 instead. I would have still have had a great time but for me the cost of going to Glasto is higher than most (I live in Bavaria, flights aren't cheap) and I'd like to see at least 1 headliner on the pyramid.

I will have an amazing time there despite that and I'm hoping some bands I like are headlining elsewhere but it's still a bit of a disappointment for me.

f**kinell, I'd love to live in Bavaria.

Well, only 1 of the Pyramid headliners have been announced so far.   The usual suspects will probably come at me for saying this, but the others are just rumours and may or may not be correct in the end so you might be lucky!

There are worse places to be! I live near Bamberg, if you're bored and want to google the small city. It's very pretty. There's also a beer garden close to me where it cost €2.50 for a 0.5l beer last year. Maybe it's going up to €2.60 this year.

It's great for my wallet, not great for my waistline 😃

Yeah...when Leeds/Reading was "good" though! Look back at some of those lineups and WOW.

Tbf I agree that Reading and Leeds is no longer producing line-ups I'd like to see and that it just seems to be a bit more of a scattergun and unfocused approach.

But it also makes me feel like this:

Weirdly not heard much about the 1975 in ages - but then this weekend did read some article about them making a new album - and if it may or may not have a Taylor Swift diss track on it - it referenced they were a top pick to play Glastonbury but no other news on live gigs at all.

Not been paying too much close attention, but other than a few suggestions on Daphne and Celeste for a gag, I didn't think there was anything over the past few days to change the consensus that it is The 1975 on the Friday.

Certainly, The S*n will look stupid if it isn't given they've doubled down a couple of times. (Wouldn't be the first time, of course.)

Someone on the discord is saying that 1975 is out and Fender is back in?

I take it all with a pinch of salt until it comes from the festival.

I'm not on there - when did that nugget drop, if I may ask?

Should say I've had a slew of birthday celebrations the past week and my memory may or may not have been affected by such chaos.

Feel free to disregard this. It’s literally one guy saying they’re out vs. tons of other places saying they’re in. Obviously always a chance that one guy is right, but honestly I’d be surprised if 1975 aren’t the Friday headliner at this point along with the other two names.

It’s only today I’ve heard about it but I’ve not read it myself yet. Apparently it’s from someone that used to post here but i don’t know if it’s a reliable source or if it’s true.

When it's revealed is irrelevant if the contracts are signed

Do we really need another round of this circular argument?

We don’t know when contracts are signed. We only know when it’s been revealed.

Oh, not dissing Murmur at all, I love it too...just have Lifes Rich Pageant at the top, closely followed by Reckoning, New Adventures in Hifi, Green, Document and some days even Fables before it! (Driver 8 is one of the main reasons for that!). To be honest, apart from Around the Sun, I listen to all of them pretty regularly. Pablo Honey gets a bad rap, it's my wife's favourite Radiohead album so we listen to it a good bit!

I'm more than happy to bite when he puts out that obvious bait. You'd think the Neil Young stuff where he made a total fool of himself would have stopped this but no, apparently not.

Anyway...

The chat is still The 1975 and O rod. Obviously I have to caveat this by stating this is not confirmed until they literally step on the pyramid stage in June. Also, as ever, it is subject to change but that is where the reliable insiders are currently.

Thanks very much.

Can get back to speculation on setlists, special guests, etc.

If it is indeed The 1975 and the other chat on a sixth record is true, then you'd imagine two things now:

1) The album is announced imminently and released in late spring, before the festival. Three or four new songs make the show.

OR

2) The album is announced in the spring and released midsummer, after the festival. One or two new songs make the show.

    • yet in Brazil they spent the money to give her the staging so her show could be done just like in the arena. And Madonna does not compromise on that sort of thing. So money was def secondary if they got into the last phase of finalizing the booking and it fell apart when it came to production. Which is t that far fetched with her anyway.   When she did the Super Bowl, just a couple days beforehand she had the idea of wanting to rappel down from the top of the stadium to start the performance and they had to tell her there was no way it could be pulled off cause nobody makes a change like that so last minute.
    • :  Laughs in American again :    its $200 usd here for standing. Not even counting the $500 premium seats they sold yesterday.  Upper levels are $100 usd for the cheapest on average.
    • It's funny that Burnham says all this stupid corbynite or blue labour or blairite or whatever sh*t but still everyone wants him because he's a proper northern lad who wears t-shirts and there's no way can have Streeting because he's apparently a massive transphobic zionist in the payroll of private health companies and palantir even if he is maybe actually offering what many liberal lefties would prefer but he can't be trusted, I mean..look at him.
