Pulp headlining the other would be much better than subbing on the pyramid.

Oh Absolutely - Tryna imagine what just an hour of Pulp would look like - and leaving room for a new song and Jarvis witty banter and i got this. (based on what they have been playing live)

I Spy
Disco 2000
New Song
Pink Glove
First time
Babies
Somethings Changed
Sorted
Sunrise
Like A Friend
Common People

Had to sacrifice some big hitters (Lipgloss, Razamataz, Mis Shapes, Glory Days, Underwear & FCL)

Obviously id be delighted if they played but the more Pulp the better - and Common People deserves to end a stage for that day.

I think their secret set on the Park in 2011 was only an hour.

Id guess about an 1 1/3 from the setlist. Can't believe that was the first time they played Like A Friend - like they sat on a previously written cracker not realising its potential. Its such a big moment in their set these days

I'm still a bit dubious about the 1975's credentials - 0 UK top 10 singles, 5 No1 albums of which none have had a second week at No1 - but that could easily change by June. If their new album has a couple of big hits on it they'll look a pretty good pick, I think. If it flops on the other hand ...

How many artists have headlined without ever having a UK top 10 single? There can't have been many (Neil Young, since you ask, has had one - Heart of Gold spent a single week at No10 in 1972)

Would be very happy if Sam Fender is one of the headliners. His show at the O2 was brilliant, and the biggest singalong of the night was (surprisingly) “People Watching”, so I think the new songs would go down well with the Glastonbury crowd as well as the older ones. His last set at Glastonbury was a highlight for me that year. New album out in a few weeks so timing works.

Agreed!

Just sold 200,000+ tickets on his winter tour. I was at the COOP Live gig and thought it was sensational live

Totally agree. I think it’s more speculation than rumour, but they are headlining Tramlines in July and as far as I remember it was announced as their biggest hometown show, but not a “festival exclusive”. So I’m hopeful!

That would be amazing. Saw them at TRNSMT and they were so good they converted the two non-fans I was with

Yes, this... 100%!!  Definitely think they should be on when it's dark!  Think they should be on Pyramid myself, but would definitely take Other headline over Pyramid sub.

Arcade Fire in 2014 surely one.

Don't all their albums go to #1?

And yes. Plenty of certified hits too, even if not on a chart placement level - though with the caveat of their seven platinum-selling singles, four are from their debut. (Only The SoundSomebody Else and It's Not Living (If It's Not With You) have gone platinum since.)

Indeed - their most streamed songs About You, Somebody Else & It's Not Living didn't even go Top 40. They definitely would've had a Top 10 single by now if they didn't always choose their slightly weirder songs for lead singles (Love Me, Give Yourself a Try, People, Part of the Band).

They're one of those acts that draw big crowds and big streaming numbers over time, but don't tend to have "hits" in the traditional sense - the likes of Tame Impala, Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino & Lana Del Rey also come to mind.

Headlined R&L 3 times

Sold 4 o2 nights out earlier this year. They are definitely big enough and have a good live show
