I may be misremembering some big hitters but Jesus & the Mary Chain and Explosions in the Sky seem like the biggest Far Out headliners we've had. Either could have been announced as a great Mountain Stage headliner. Explosions' 2011 headline slot was incredible framed by Pen Cerrig-calch. I know the festival and the Mountain Stage are a lot bigger now.
Idles in 2019 seems massive now but it was pre-Ultra Mono. Anyone else?
Splurged on weekend tickets as we're driving down to Cornwall for a week's holiday and it's always a treat to stop off in Bristol. I've heard great things and the line-up is essentially everyone that's been missing from other festivals I've been to the last few years.
For those of you complaining about Bristol's outdoor shows, check out Sheffield. It's truly bleak here.
I wish they'd do that for Max Cooper. I've just watched his Live at the Acropolis set in YouTube and can't help but feel all that AV is wasted in the Far Out Tent 😂😂.
Definitely worth a watch if you have a big telly (I wish mine was bigger).
Sleaford Mods can get in the bin but that's fine because the undercard is so strong I'll need to be elsewhere.
Over the moon with Sampha. Strongest undercard in years. I'm kinda shocked at people's reaction if I'm honest, it's bloody marvellous!
GM shared a few bands with Forward last year.
I think we can write off the headliners with them being so close, in both time and distance, to each other. However, Romy, Green tea Peng, Yussef Days or Nubya Garcia would be WONDERFUL.
Gossip are looking pretty unlikely now they're playing Germany both Friday and Sunday. Shame as I'm away for their Leeds date.
Hyped for Metz though. Didn't see that coming.
I could really see Gossip as a Far Out Headliner but I don't think their reunion quite has the hype to have them headline the Mountain Stage. Potentially the Amyl & The Sniffers Sunday sub-slot? That was flippin' excellent. I absolutely love 'em so would love to see them somewhere.
Would also love Soulwax to fill that late Far Out slot. I haven't seen them for a decade. TSHA, Barry Can't Swim or Romy would also be amazing.
How high on the line-up would we expect The Decemberists and Alvvays to be? I had The Decemberists penned as a headliner but they're probably no more popular than Alvvays are these days...
