Dunno if anyone saw the size of the crowd Chappell got at Austin City Limits the other day but it reinforced that if they have secured her followed by O Rod on the Sunday then it is absolutely huge. Some years the stars just align I guess.

Austin City Limits in Texas, USA.

Yes I know where it is. What's your point? Was just saying it's one of the biggest crowds ive ever seen

My point is that we are not in the USA and she's not pulling one of the biggest crowds you've ever seen at Glastonbury.

I didn't say she was gonna pull one of the biggest crowds at glastonbury though did I? I said it reinforced to me how popular she is currently that an non headliner could pack a field like that . You're arguing against something I never said. She will get a huge crowd is she plays though

I think many younger attendees would not call Pulp interesting or exciting!

I consider myself young and I'd love to see Pulp at Glasto, even though I saw them a few months ago.

Anyway, I understand that booking a lineup the size of Glastonbury is complex and there are many factors to consider. But for me, it's rare and quite unusual that there are subs like Chappell who could draw a bigger crowd than a hideliner like the 1975. But maybe I'm underestimating them.

In two minds. Love Muse, would definitely be there with bells on but have seen them on the Pyramid already and a handful of other times.

I'm the same on having seen them on there twice before, but I'll be right down the front if they do play and they'd be the one I look forward to the most. Currently hoping for something, anything, else from them next summer as all their gigs are Glastonbury week currently.

It's 6 months out from the festival. Just cause The 1975 aren't about right this minute doesn't mean they won't be by the summer. I feel like it is better when Glasto gets bands on the start of a fresh ear than the end of an old one personally.

Anyway with the rumoured subs it is already clear the Pyramid will be vastly stronger than last year. And that's before you even consider the newest chat of Sabrina Carpenter being in talks.

What are the rumoured subs?

Each to their own and all that but I watched PJ Harvey, LCD and Little Simz and didn't see any of the pyramid headliners. I was really happy with the subs last year.

Saw the LCD set on TV and it’s such a shame they didn’t have longer.

Really they’re a their own show or headline act, let them really dive into the more marauding songs. They were great at APE.

40-60 minutes doesn’t do them justice.

I don’t like The 1975 and won’t be watching but they’ll get a big crowd for sure

Matt Healy does something misogynistic / racist - some other from of ist -> 1975 get pulled and replaced with Muse.

I want a night away from the Pyramid though!

Seem to remember the first I heard of The 1975 was opening for Muse at the Arsenal FC stadium in 2013, albeit on the second night whereas I went to see Bastille on night one instead.

I was under the assumption Muse will turn up somewhere else in the UK tbh. If less sure as to what given many of the places I thought they might surface have released line-ups without them on.

They had 75 minutes on the bill, but wish it had been 75 hours. They were so good. Actually the only act I saw on the Pyramid this year other than Femi Kuti. So much amazing stuff going on across all the other stages throughout the fest though, so didn’t feel like minimal Pyramid impacted my fest.

things change so fast these days- If you'd said 12-18 months ago that Sabrina, Chappell and Charli XCX would be some of the bigggest names they could book, people would think you're mad. Who gives a f**k if Neil young gets a medium sized crowds if you have other bookings like that. Plus if Michael wants him headlining thats as good a reason as any.

you mean Lolla. Acl is only 80,000 people. Lolla is 120,000. Ive been in that field when it was packed for Radiohead in 2008 at their essential peak for arguments sake. The Chappell crowd was larger.
