Chappell on Sunday subbing O Rod then also sure Paramore have been mentioned. Sabrina in talks apparently and you would assume she would sub if she played.

Feels odd to me that Chappell and Sabrina would headline Primavera and sub at Glasto.  Not impossible, but odd.

Primavera’s headliners tend to vary in size - sometimes it’s stuff like Radiohead, AM, Kendrick, Blur that would outright headline any festival here, but sometimes it’s slightly smaller stuff that could sub or even headline the Other Stage. This year’s three fall to the lower bracket imo, just about.

Although yeah, if Glastonbury have actually managed to pull all those off then that’s mighty impressive.

I always have to take into consideration the differences between the UK and here in the US.  for example, the low turnout for SZA wouldn't have happened in the states - but clearly in the UK she just hasnt reached the same level. I'm wondering if the same is true for Chappell. She's the biggest of the big here in the states - can't go anywhere without hearing her music; definitely the "it girl" right now and that hasn't waned since the summer.  In my head it has to be the same in the UK but maybe it isn't.

That Chappell set at Lolla was during the afternoon with no proper clashes, so it was easier to get that big of a crowd. Put her in an evening slot at Glasto and the crowds will be more dispersed.

how did Avril have her crowd despite the clashes around it. It wont matter. Again,  the convenience of seeing her without fighting to the death for tickets will be a factor. Only having played those shows she just did in the uk paired with a majority of glasto attendees not having seen her makes a big difference. Why wouldnt you go see her when itll be highly anticipated. She will be one of the acts over the weekend that people are buzzing over.

Heavily predicting Oasis and Fred for Glastonbury 2027 after what Noel recently said.

Glastonbury making sure they are available for 2027, I'd have said it would be pretty obvious that Oasis will tour in 2026 still cashing in various places and had Glastonbury has any idea that 2026 would be possible there I'd no way they would do the fallow.

Fred, Sabrina, Oasis would be my guess.

Sam Fender, Little Simz, Foo Fighters 28

What clashes around Avril? Mount Kimbie and Janelle Monae were never serious contenders to attract a full crowd.

Not saying it won't be packed at Chappell (best to put her on the Pyramid just to be sure), but I don't buy the idea that the majority of Glastonbury is gonna try to see her.

is Dave going to be let out of the house by then? They had a summer tour for next year cancelled for obvious reasons.

Zzzzz, f**k Chappell Roan. Will gladly skip her in favor of something different. As if crowd size means something about quality. Y'all remember Shania Twain's lameass set this year right? And screw this notion that everybody should be seeing her just because her fanbase is hyping her up. What's with all this glazing? Watch five years go by and people looking back at her as just some fad.

I will imagine by 2027 they'll be back on the circuit. It might even be Foos in 27 and Reading in 28 with Fred or Sabrina waiting. I think those will be the headliners though over the course of those years.

I will see her but she's not this big goat booking in my opinion. Just because she's American doesn't suddenly make it a huge booking. Reading only booked her on co-headliner with bloody Hozier who did Finsbury Park...yes he's due to sub the Other stage. She's headlining Primavera but so is Charli who is only doing Parklife. Primavera like many festivals aren't getting everything as jig as they did.

Primavera is also a fundamentally different festival from Glastonbury, so comparisons definitely aren't a good idea.

No I've just read a lot about if Glastonbury got Chappell, Sabrina and Charli somehow it's absolutely huge. Neither of those are currently outright headlining something the size of Glastonbury in the UK and two of them are very much playing slot that are just sub level at Glastonbury as had been the case with previous bookings.

    • I think we have to trust their reasons to take a break now
    • Fair enough! I've never heard it formally addressed, but thanks for the education!
    • Absolutely - it's a double edged sword. Weezer is the only one I can recall them amending, but since the last fallow year we've had Phoebe Bridgers, Courteeners, Myles Smith, Yungblud and The Vaccines (and I suppose Djo count?) play very small slots on Woodies for artists their size. That's not even including secret sets, and ones like Sigrid and Tom Odell that spilled out of the tent. See also: Wet Leg and Barry Can't Swim on the Park   Part of me loves that this happens because getting a big artist in a small slot feels intimate and unique to Glastonbury from any other festival, but it does come at the cost of feeling anxious that they'll shut the stage down before you get there!
