Defo think it’ll be someone in that field, if not Jack then someone like a Nick Cave, Biffy, Pulp or Phonics.

If it’s Pulp then I’d argue they’ve got them the wrong way round. Much more generational crossover / singalong potential than Neil.

That’s so true, yet there’s very few big acts who dare do improvisation, I can only think of Dylan - to variable success - or Springsteen. Most stick to the safety of a well rehearsed setlist

Get the surviving members of the Grateful Dead over, Phish, King Gizz. Have a day of non-stop jamming.

(I know, I know….)

It was my first one too, I missed Neil Young for Doves but thought that song sounded amazing on the tv. I've never really delved further into his music to be honest. I will do if he gets confirmed though.

Agree on Bruce, and Blur was that "Glastonbury moment" that hooked me into going every time I get the chance

There’s absolutely no shame in not being as good as Blur at Glastonbury in 2009. Not many gigs are. That was very special.

We were there in 2009 but skipped Neil Young for British Sea Power on Avalon. Lots of fun - main memory of it was everyone was holding branches - still not quite sure why.

Sea Power nearly always decorate their stage with branches. There used to be stuffed or fake birds too I think. I think they're into all the birdwatching stuff (genuinely).

I really want it to be Young. I was torn between watching him, Doves, QTip or Ray Davies on the Friday in 2009 and instead I saw a secret 5th choice-getting far too twatted. I saw the Youngster open with Into the Black and remember almost nothing else.

Idiot.

Anyway if it is him I’m there, though I agree with those that say if it’s Charlie XCX on the Other she’ll have a much bigger crowd.

Were...you...me? 😅

Just thought I'd do a bit of research on The 1975...and recognise some of their stuff from tv or whatever and actually think I like it...so now if had to choose between them or Loyle Carner think maybe I will be in the pyrammid...lead singer seems a bit of a d*ck though.

Underworld headlining woodsies or the park on the Friday too. That's 100 percent where I'll be.

i would not be against having Pulp headline Sunday merely for it being the right kind of "old" artist. Like if you dont have Oasis then Pulp would be a great second choice and sing along act. Neil Young would be meh, and would show them just trying to book a 75 year old legacy act just cause Michael said so. Pulp satifies plenty of folks and if against Charli thats the contrats you seek. AND BRITISH

Yeah they've got a lot of recognisable songs even if you've not chosen to listen to them before. Great thing is, apart from the newest album, it all sounds reasonably similar.

Very good live as well I thought when I saw them

Pulp any night, any stage would win the weekend for me. Can’t imagine a clash that would take me away from that. Be great to see them on Pyramid though

I've been convinced for the last 2+ years that Pulp would be doing Glastonbury in 2025 as it's the 30th anniversary of their legendary 1995 set... but the total lack of credible info over the last few months has been making me less sure!  However... we now know they are doing a few UK dates next year, one of which is Tramlines Festival, so I'm feeling more positive again!

I think they deserve a headline Pyramid slot... but I'd rather see them headline the Other Stage than do any daytime Pyramid slot.  And they are too big for Park or Woodsies I think.

Theyre really gonna go Underworld, Basement Jaxx and Prodigy on diff days on diff stages arent they. I mean if Im seeing one Pyramid headliner it was prob O Rod so Saturday is looking not too frustrating with the alternatives

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
