2025 Headliners

How would the sonics even work? The Pyramid is massive. Sound can get wavy when it's stripped down at the back. Comedy relies on timing. There's all these factors that makes me think it just wouldn't work.

This is why I don't think comedy works in arenas. I've seen a few arena comedy shows but it doesn't hit me in the sweet spot in the same way a great performer in a theatre or club does.

If it were true, it’s seems to indicate to me they were struggling to sign up 3 strong headliners. I’d find it difficult to believe they’d actively choose a comedian instead of a top music act/band

I sincerely doubt it's happening anyway.

There’s a much chance of me headlining the Pyramid as there is Peter Kay doing it

More, arguably.

At least you'll be on site to start with.

This is one person trying to do a "bit". It's not worth engaging with.

Bill Bailey can work in arenas, but that is heavily aided by the musical element that comes with his shows.

I swear this isn't even the first time this has been suggested.

@charlierc  You would be quite correct, and you have a great memory as @LoveAndTheft hadn't posted on here since June 2023 until making a come back on Monday 18th November. I wonder where they've been during that time?

And it's hardly surprisingly but it would appear it was  @LoveAndTheft who started the fake rumours last time. Perhaps its time for them to take another break from trying to derail threads, or find themself taking an enforced break/placed on post moderation by the moderation team.

Apologies to users for the lengthy thread but here below are a selection of their previous posts.

Nope - just in the know!

The rumours going around are it will be Peter Kay.

So Elton confirmed for Sunday and Arctic Monkeys strongly rumoured for Friday. It also seems Peter Kay pretty much a guarantee for Saturday. I've never known all 3 headliners 99% confirmed by Christmas.

Seems my prediction of Peter Kay headlining Saturday may not come to fruition. Shame as to me that would have been another first for Glastonbury.

Strong rumours doing the rounds that Peter Kay may be the Saturday headliner. A first for Glastonbury to have a comedian headlining the Pyramid Stage.

Yep it seems to be gathering some momentum, which makes me think there is something in it.

@LoveAndTheft Only in your head!

Now lets get the thread back on track!

Impressively forensic research into finding that indeed, this is an attempt to revive a debunked theory of the past.

Maybe this kind of research is what we need to get a job in a Philadelphia mail room.

There's zero chance it will ever happen. Can't understand why anyone here is taking it seriously.

Nobody is. It’s a boring attempted wind up by somebody who isn’t very good at winding people up. Way too obvious 🥱

And come on, Queen were popular worldwide in 1980s, even in the pre-internet days.

Their 1982 USA arena tour sold poorly and they never went back with Freddie. After the video for I Want to Break Free came out in 1984, their popularity there completely nosedived.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
