And we've had 4 hot days since the start of May.

Laughable.

What's incredible is May was the warmed on record. Not even joking.

Dull, Wet and Very warm.

June has started horrifically though and is currently running 1.7C BELOW the mean.

I remember over the years (going back to my first Glastonbury, so talking like 10-15 years ago) often thinking in mid-June "I can't believe I'm camping in 2 weeks" because its felt too cold and nowhere near summer yet. But by the time we get there its fine. The forecast looks like that'll be the case this year too.

This feels like a return to that than anything new to me. Its slightly colder, BBC had a good article explaining something about trapped cold air, but the general pattern fits with what I remember.

Hopefully this trend continues with the Azores high attempting to approach the UK at the start of the festival week.

This is the mean of all GFS runs from the 00Z model output

yes, it’s pointing straight towards Somerset, well nearly.

Where does one go to see all these colourful pictures I am obsessed with but don't understand in the slightest?

do i need to shell out on a pair of walking boots at this stage or will it be dry enough for trainers all weekend...

At that risk/reward tipping point.

Wait till 7 days out for the accurate forecast to potential save money, but also lose valuable wearing in time.

Good luck solider.

On Tuesday, we won't know for certain whether it will rain on Saturday and Sunday. I'd always take walking boots

Could be sketchers or trainers or walking shoes or walking boots or wellies or flippers

its on a knife edge as it usually is!

buy as an offer to the weather gods then return if the heatwave comes in and it's clear you won't need them? Scientific approach.

In my experience buying alternative footwear has meant needing it. If you don't buy it you won't need it.

I always take wellies/boots/trainers and sliders (for the campsite).  If it's a good forecast, the wellies stay in the car.

But never return them before the end of the festival. The weather gods will see this as total Cockiness and we will be smote.

    • Best of all is to get the tram, then call a taxi for very short not-rip-off ride once in the centre.
    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the ‘official’ freenow taxi line ( 5 min walk from the main gate). It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
