I so wish all the early forecasts were not so good. Given what 2024 has thrown at us so far and how often promise has ben replaced by crap I have the fear.....................................

but

The beautiful weather in 2023 broke on Monday as Glastonbury had ended and by the middle of that week the pattern of wet, cooler and generally not great weather had set in.

Will we get the total opposite this year with finally this pattern of gloom replaced by this thing I am told would be called summer?

I agree with you. It's too soon for these excellent forecasts.

I've gotta disagree, we've had awful weather for so long so its a reasonably good sign that things seem to be changing from next week - even if it does settle into a pattern of warmth, longer periods of sunshine and scattered showers.

It's also positive that for some time (most) models have been in basic agreement that things are trending somewhat drier and warmer toward the end of the month (It's still too soon but consistency is our friend). Can't explain it, but, I feel more positive for the weather for this years festival than I did the last two.

Very happy to be disagreed with! I definitely hope you are right. I just don’t want to tempt fate.

Another hot, hot, hot GFS this morning.

Absolutely no rain in this GFS either.

Too good too early!

I hope it’s not THAT hot, I really struggled at times last year with the heat.

This is giving me nightmare flashbacks of Gerry Cinnamon on John Peel on the Saturday in 2019. Never perspired so much in my life.

Bring on the Azores Fist! I'll make sure to pack my vaseline.

Remember that, we arrived late for aGerry Cinnamon and were on the edge of the tent and the heat actually coming out from the tent was incredible, never mind the temp outside.  It was a belter😉

    • Possibly not as there are chair size restrictions in the seated area, for the guidelines see here -  https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/bring   Have a look into applying for Access and I would recommend contacting them for further advice before buying a ticket - https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/access  They should also be able to answer if you can take a wheelchair into the seated area 🙂
