I didn't comment on the thread at the time but I really enjoyed it, probably more than I expected to. I've enjoyed a fair few other Pyramid headliners more (I don't think anything will ever top the Stones for me) but yeah... it was pretty spectacular. 

Probably not my favourite ever Pyramid headliner (hello, Blur) but definitely top 5. I knew at the time it'd be my last Glasto, at least for a while, and it was a f**king awesome set to go out on. Had all the things. The man played a blinder.

A 7/10 for me. I was possibly too far back to really get into it. Good setlist but from the Pyramid headliners I’ve seen I enjoyed (deep breath) REM, Radiohead, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Rolling Stones, The Cure, and McCartney more. Possibly GNR too.

I was admittedly a little bit too spangled by the time the last half hour rolled around, but being baws deep in the pit when Benny and the Jets started was an all time great moment.

Yeah probably a 7 for me too and probably for the same reason.

9/10….Incredible set. Thought it would be hard to surpass Macca’s pyramid. The only thing that let him down were his guests.

Are we pretty certain that Elton holds the record for the biggest crowd at the Pyramid given they removed a section from Kidney Mead then?

It's not been confirmed as such.

But given the various factors - substantially bigger Pyramid field than ever before, increased (official) capacity since 2022, the reported lack of people everywhere else on site during the set - I thank it's a very safe assumption.

Honestly can't even see how you could make a credible case that it's anyone else.

It was also the first Pyramid crowd extensively documented from on high by the BBC flying drones over it. There may have been bigger crowds, but the claims rely on anecdotes and hearsay.  Elton's crowd, however, is there in HD.

I've been contemplating my top 10 gigs of the year and Elton hasn't made the cut. For someone who I'd never normally chose to listen to at home though, he put on a good show

I got married this year, our 'walking down the isle after being married' song was Elton and our last dance  song was Elton. Great artist to have.

...and it didn't. Marvellous gig - definitely a 9. Macca was a ten though.

The woman behind these 2 seems quite happy, she must have found the sweet spot between them where she could still see the stage.
