I've got a feeling he'll be there, I know about the 6 month in Canada thing, but the dates, if taken from the time he travelled, and if all goes well, are very close to lining up.

Obviously I hope he doesn't rush anything, and that the treatment goes well... But I've just got 'a feeling.'

Probably has to be John Peel, but I expect it will be very very busy.

Never hear about this guy except on here 24/7

I hear about him all over social media, he went viral a few weeks ago with Hi Ren. All over tiktok and other playforms.

There’s a million and one reaction videos on Youtube.

He was also in the charts recently, as an independent.

Around 2 weeks ago my (guitar playing / obsessed and rap hating) friend came to me and said he’d found this guy who raps and plays guitar, and that he actually liked him, went to play it, and it was Ren.

Apologies for having to repost this to start a conversation but due to the man up on his high horse who knows fuck all about REN he deleted my first post..

Little tip for newbies on here

Careful who you write things.. If the man dont understand he gets the hump lol..

I hope he plays! I heard Hi Ren a couple Of weeks ago and loved it but really fell down the YouTube rabbit hole yesterday watching his stuff and I’m so impressed. Donated to his medical bills and keeping fingers crossed things will improve for him in time 🤞

I think this is such a bad barometer for scale. 'My friends don't talk about him...so?'

His 'Hi Ren' Video has 4.2 Million views, in a month, as an independent. The bittersweet sympathy retake has 230k in a day. People are talking about him, people are listening. Just not in your circle and that's okay.

Mentioned him to my Nephew the other day, saying he should listen. Turns out that he went to Uni with him and did a few sessions in the studio together. Says what a lovely chap he is, but obviously troubled, which I will not go into here. Hope he gets the treatment he needs and that it helps him. Will certainly catch him when he does play

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
