So both Elton and Axl have ropey voices live these days. I guess the crowd singing will help drown them both out?

Elton's is ropey, the other one's try-not-to-laugh contest worthy.

Mr John has always been the worst at pronouncing words properly.

Mr Rose on the other hand was a rock legend back in the day.  The winner of the How Many Syllables Can You Put Into A One Syllable Word competition.

Knock knock knocking on heavens dowawawawaaawaàawaawaaa...

I think the day most, if not all ? the other members of the band left / were sacked by Axl back in the mid 90's, was the moment the band broke up.

Just because Axl continued to use the name for years afterwards, doesn't mean Axl and his session friends / bucket headed guitarists were GnR in anything other than legally owned name.

Fine for you to look at it that way but the conventional way to view if a band is broken up is if they brake up and stop working not continue to tour occasionally and make an album, albeit very slowly.

What about the Fall? Members left all the time and Mark E Smith was the sole person who stayed in the band throughout the Fall's lifespan. They made over 30 albums and toured regularly but by your logic the Fall broke up after the first album

Mark E wrote almost everythin though. GnR wrote as a band on the first few albums. Axl had little to do with writing a few of their big tunes.

The writing credits for their big tunes suggest otherwise.

Nah. Appetite is a proper "band" album. He didnt really take over until Use Your Illusion. And even then Izzy gets a lack of respect.

Think theres only 1 or 2 tunes on Appetite that Axl actually came up with/brought in.

Mark E Smith co-wrote almost everything with the other band members.

Rose has a song writing credit on everything from Appetite and the majority of the songs use your illusion albums including all of the most famous ones

That's kind of the thing with The Fall though. The Fall are Mark E Smith and whoever he is playing with. Just like The Divine Comedy are Neil Hannon and whoever he is playing with.

"If it's me and your nan on bongos, it's The Fall", or something to that effect.... RIP MES

That's got me thinking, I've got no idea if my nan knew what bongos were. She passed away about fourty years ago, was born in 1905. Why and how would she have encountered bongos?

Was it always that way though or did they originally start out as a band of equal members and but became their band as the original members left?
