Rock Werchter 2022

As much I'd LOVE to see Coldplay close the festival with a proper bang (which RPCH would never be able to deliver) I'm curious about other band

The War on Drugs - will they happen before Pearl Jam like it was spoilered/stated a while ago? Their 2015 performance is still in my mind as one of THE BEST RW experience. Plus the new single brings the nostalgia 😛

I don't think The War On Drugs will be there as they've announce a big show in Antwerp (SportPaleis) for 23 April 2022. A bit short to play at RW about 2 months later!

Rolling Stones announced the end of the year on an Amarican tour, will they then go to Asia and do a European tour?  Could it be Domingo's name?

There are rumors that they‘ll play Europe in July 2022 but I doubt they‘ll be at Werchter.

If plans about expanded 5-day edition (with separate tickets for extra day) of RW are still on the table then it’s possible. Or maybe second Werchter Boutique?

No "could have". The press release for the Nick Cave TW Classic already confirmed that we're getting 2 TW Classic editions next Summer, one with a more classic headliner. Although there are also rumors floating around regarding Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen, so it'll be one of those 3.

But…. Normally the second TW Classic was planned to be announced by the end of June… no idea why they didn’t do it.

No panic. That decision had been made for a while to wait.

Wait for what? COVID is unpredictable as ever even on short notice. See Pukkelpop.

I thought promoters are eager to announce huge shows as soon as possible with the current oversupply of shows in the summer of 2022.

    • I really like the Cheap Thrills! I saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester in January at one of Chris Hawkins' "Awesome Friends" nights (which i think is why I even got tickets as it wasn't listed as a Cheap Thrills show!). Very good live and some great songs. I would've gone Saturday if I'd planned ahead!
    • They also seem to be in a mission to break the US with their new major label and this latest LP   Mid afternoon, live streamed on Disney+ is arguably a much bigger gig than Kendal Calling, if they had to skip one
    • This is massively exciting. I've been curious to who will be provide vocals for their live show and this is mega!
    • Seems to be getting reported as his only headline show in UK, I would say he's probably out BST now but can be on the Sunday teatime glasto slot or something
