I wonder if they'll still go ahead with this. Has the potential to be a spark in a tinderbox.

Do you understand how many states do not have open carry laws? As much as we are vilified for our gun obsession, theres still plenty that try to keep things as safe as possible. They wont be able to get into DC with their guns to begin with.

Fully aware of that thanks. Of course they only brought their pipe bombs on Wednesday. But if this site/movement is actually genuine, I could see some of the open carry states maybe having some nutters turn up at their capitols as per Michigan.

Goddamnit I decide to have an early night and I miss one of the Crown Jewels of Trumps downfall happening. Gotta say, I’ll miss seeing him pop up spouting absolute lunacy, but the idea of him losing his fucking mind about this is just all too sweet.

Parler gone is just the icing on the cake.

    • Doesn't surprise me. West Yorkshire had a vote if they wanted a mayor in 2012 and voted no. The government then ignored the vote and announced the position anyway in 2016.

    • Also agree, it does feel that there isn’t much between the Mercury Prize and the Brit Awards these days.   This part sums it up for me “The complaint isn’t so much about the quality of the music, but more the disappearance of spaces for outsider voices in British music. With streaming algorithms feeling increasingly geared towards big names, and social media acting as a minefield, the Mercury’s pivot to the mainstream closes another door in the face of creative independence.”
