U.S. Presidential Election

It always amazes me to see the contrast in coverage between UK and US coverage of politics.

I almost feel like politics is spun as a kind of entertainment in the US.

The (almost OTT) energy from American broadcasters is exhausting.

Biden is not doing as well in Miami, but Trump is a couple of points down in other counties from 2016. It bang on the Real Clear Politics average at the moment

9% down in Miami after 85% votes in, bit of a concern. Wonder why Biden's tanking there compared to Clinton?

got sky, cnn and washington post feeds running, flipping audio as required.  I'm a major geek for this stuff, normally being up all night for elections is a bit of a solitary habit, so nice to see the number of people enthused by this.

Low population density though innit.

Loving the big blue of Texas and Ohio currently, won't last but enjoyable all the same.

True, but i don't think there is enough vote left in the big counties for Biden especially with the Miami  issues.

It was a lovely sight, I'd never have considered Texas moving away from Trump, but Ohio is looking promising.

CNN have got it going on tonight, this guy is excellent.

    • Doesn't surprise me. West Yorkshire had a vote if they wanted a mayor in 2012 and voted no. The government then ignored the vote and announced the position anyway in 2016.

    • Also agree, it does feel that there isn’t much between the Mercury Prize and the Brit Awards these days.   This part sums it up for me “The complaint isn’t so much about the quality of the music, but more the disappearance of spaces for outsider voices in British music. With streaming algorithms feeling increasingly geared towards big names, and social media acting as a minefield, the Mercury’s pivot to the mainstream closes another door in the face of creative independence.”
