That's just boilerplate text that has been on there since day one. The "invite" is coming via the Nottingham & Nottinghamshire CCG website and social media, which as of this morning is actively encouraging everyone over 40 to book and providing the links.

Given that they're the ones running the vaccination sites, I think you're maybe looking for a problem where one doesn't exist.

That text has been there all along. Normally you'd see a list of locations to book at below that, though it sounds like they're not showing for everyone because the system is overwhelmed (which is no surprise given that they've opened 3 groups at once).

With Boris Johnson reportedly facing a rebellion from Tory MPs when the Commons votes on extending the current restrictions, one of the committee’s findings may be particularly problematic. It says the government has not provided enough evidence to justify the proposal in its roadmap to stop pubs and restaurants in England serving customers indoors, and indoor entertainment opening, until 17 May at the earliest. It says:

The hospitality and entertainment sectors have not seen sufficient data to underpin decisions relating to their industry. The evidence the committee received was inconclusive over whether restrictions on hospitality and entertainment sectors were sensible and indeed it is not the purpose of this report to come to a judgement on that. However, building trust with these sectors is absolutely essential and the level of transparency has not been sufficient.

PA Media reports:

Two doses of either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine offer similar protection against coronavirus as natural immunity after infection, new research suggests.

None of the 1,456 healthcare workers at Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Foundation Trust who had received two vaccines had a symptomatic infection when followed up more than 14 days after their second vaccination.

The study saw the same high level of protection in unvaccinated healthcare workers who had contracted Covid-19 naturally.

They had 98% fewer symptomatic infections than unvaccinated individuals who had not been infected before, researchers say. Most of the healthcare workers in the study had only received one vaccine to date.

According to the research, protection against symptomatic infection was at 67% after a first dose of vaccine, which was received by 11,023 hospital staff.

In total, 13,109 OUH healthcare workers have participated in the study of symptomatic and asymptomatic staff.Of these, 8,285 have received the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine (1,407 of them two doses), and 2,738 the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab (49 of them receiving both doses).

The festival itself is outdoors, but the massive crowds that attended aren’t exactly famed for going straight back to their hotel room as soon as the last horse heads to the winners tent.

 

Most of the superspreading that week would have taken place in the local bars and clubs as opposed to the racetrack itself.

The point I’m making here is that it still transmits outdoors ... and small groups of people close to each other in pub gardens drinking is likely to be a reason for increased rates ... it’s wether those people go on to become hospitalised if they haven’t yet had the  jab

They’ve settled for the halfway house for the bank holiday of outdoor socialising but not in hospitality which gives people the chance to see friends and have a drink but prevents the types of things that you outline.

I've been to Cheltenham on just normal race days and that's bad enough...I can imagine for the Gold Cup its complete mayhem.

its crazy! its like a normal night out with 40 x the usual amount of people. I live 300 metres away from the racecourse and for me to drive to partners house which is about a 8 minute drive usually, It can take over 2 hours in rush hour

Made the mistake of getting a train through Cheltenham once when the racing was on. The driver had to ask people to get off cos the train was too full to move!
