For reasons I cannot explain or justify I'm hesitant to get my daughter vaccinated though she is only 2 so that may never be a decision I have to make. Do you know the age range they are currently doing research on and considering vaccinating?

Pfizer and Moderna had 12+ on their trials in the US, Oxford are testing over 6 I believe. Don’t think anyone is looking at  as young as 2 yet!

Some bolloxs mentioned by a #10 spokesperson that the planes are Covid secure and the 'process' starts when they land..

To be fair I came back in yesterday through LHR from Kyiv and my aircraft had a total of 14 pax on board. 😷 Was pretty secure but only through low pax load but Boryspil was pretty switched on - temperature checks and distancing rigidly enforced.

LHR T2 was pretty quiet as well and through in no time. Fingers crossed last time for a bit that I have to repeat the journey.

Doves said on their post about rescheduling that it was really hard to find venues for next year, so maybe they were beaten to it?

Yeah could be and there's also that element of not so relevant 2 years after the original event /new cd. Probably also at 30something 2 years doesnt make a difference but 70 something it has a distinct possibility it does.

Guessing i'm a little bit in mourning that reality is i'll not see them again. Theyve been a constant in my pife for 40years (even tho they had split up for a lot of that)

Ah well.

 Onto the next i guess.

Also, the second doses by April 4th isn't accurate either. The gap is not always 12 weeks. My dad was vaccinated on Jan 24th and he will get his second does on April 4th. My mum had hers earlier in Jan and will also be before April 4th.

For him to suggest we only need to do ~2m second doses by April 4th is very wide of the mark.

The gap is officially 10-12 weeks - so your father is getting it on the earliest officially sanctioned date.

To be fair nothing to say they aren't just going to do a couple of stadiums or Hyde Park or something next year instead of a longer tour?

Interesting, didn't know that - strange that there is so much emphasis on 12 weeks within the media as opposed to 10-12 weeks.

I think my mum and sister are also somewhere between 10 weeks but fewer than 12.

It does mean that the original tweeter's estimation that we will only be doing second doses for those vaccinated in Dec before April 4th is wide of the mark.

Feel like everything from number 10 is being realistic and potentially under promising and over delivering which is a nice change of pace.

The above seems a bit unrealistic. Novavax will be here in the 2nd half of the year. We should have Moderna by April but haven't heard much since it was approved last month.

The above is suggesting 6m-7m will be vaccinated a week which is mad and very much hope he's right!

Sounds relatively positive!

Incase you;re interested @quark - 2 weeks on from the last update and we're at 47 cases (from 107) - in a population of 107K. 23 of those symptomatic.  0 cases in care homes and 0 cases in hospital

Shops opened 2 weeks ago, close contact stuff (eg hairdressers, beauticians, tattoo studios/piercers  ) last wednesday and we're hanging on in there. Next stage is outdoor sports I think today or end of this week and then restaurants this time next week. (10 maximum per table, last orders 10pm, and 2.5 hour time limit) - no mixing in houses still and no gyms, and the struggle is at the moment with such low figures to keep everyone abiding by the rules but we're doing it for the greater good (I hope)

Its super strange coming out of lockdown , as loads of questions why people can meet 10 people for a meal but can;t meet mum in her home etc (its apparently all to do with  controlled or uncontrolled environments which is a really horrible terminology)

Anyway thats my update from this little island ........

10-12 is the advice and if you book online for the jab it gives you the 11th week to book the second dose.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/feb/15/hotel-quarantine-rollout-in-england-an-absolute-joke-says-border-official

Border staff received guidelines on how to execute England’s new “red list” quarantine rules in an email two and a half hours before they came into force, in a rollout that one worker described as “an absolute joke”.

Another good job by the government.

Novavax have said that they'll be ready to start delivering in April, if they can get approval by then. While the data we've seen shows that it works, there's not enough of it for approval so that is likely to be the delaying factor.

So did you have to book your 2 test package then?

The story about the guy from Brazil, this is going to happen daily... same flight as non-red list country visitors yet share the same depature gate/plane etc till they get to the UK... madness!

Heard from two people today that are not on any vulnerable list (aged 35 and 40) that they’ve received texts offering the vaccine this week. One could be classed as a carer as she lives with elderly grandparents but the other has no idea why she’s been contacted.

Wonder if they’ve smashed through the targets round here?

    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"

    • Any other lower league/non-league supporters on here? It’s all change at my team, Aldershot Town. We’ve released 25 players and the new manager has brought in 21 or 22 completely new players. Going to be an interesting gamble.   There’s a little video here on the reasons why:
