It’s evolving day by day, based on data, variants, impacts of the vaccine etc. In terms of project management it’s running Agile and not the traditional Waterfall method.

Respectfully disagree with that. An agile project has goals/a vision just the same as a waterfall project. I’d run my agile project very differently if the vision was to “reduce capacity in NHS to manageable levels” vs “eradicate the virus completely”.

Doesn’t matter how you manage the delivery of the project - if you don’t know that the core aim/vision is, you’ll always fail.

I find it so frustrating that people let them off by saying something like ‘no one has had to deal with this before’ or ‘no one else could do any better’ etc. It treats the victims of this pandemic with little respect and ignores the fact that we could have seen this coming and acted accordingly.

That’s referring to previous mistakes they made, which they should be held fully accountable for. I don’t think many people actually feel they aren’t to blame in some way do they?

Im talking specifically about their plans to reopen after this lockdown, and let’s see their proposed roadmap and how they are planning to reopen before jumping to conclusions that’s it’s a failure. It could well prove out to be, but let’s wait and see.

You do know that life and the real world isn't like building flat pack furniture don't you? You don't have all the pieces and all the tools laid out in front of you with a manual.

Real life is the stage before that goes wrong where someone is working out all the shit that's needed in the flat pack and guess what they get it wrong many times and even when it's got right they still tweek it.

Actually there was something very similar, I’ve mentioned it before but look up Operation Cygnus. I know you won’t but have a look.

You know I won't... What a dick

I don't need to look it up because I know what it is - a three day exercise based on the flu of some description.

You’d be surprised, take a look at this very page.

Yeah I’m going to wait to see what they suggest but my point originally was that they have used up any good faith through their handling of the exits of the last 2 lockdowns. Therefore as a result I don’t think they should get that leeway now.

Yeah I totally get where you’re coming from, but surely the aim of this is something along the lines of ‘a journey back to normality (pre pandemic levels) whilst ensuring the NHS doesn’t become overwhelmed and deaths are kept to a minimum’.
Rather than just aiming for that by an arbitrary date of ‘by 1st July’ it’s constantly evolving based on real life data from number of positive tests, number of deaths, vaccine rollout numbers, vaccine effectiveness etc. It will need to essentially be run in 2 weeks sprints where it is evaluated before determining next steps on the story board. It’s possible that what they had envisaged will need to be reassessed based on the real life data feeding though, and targets will be adjusted accordingly.

Like I say I've been working through out. If I was on my own I think I'd be caining it Friday to Sunday and before I know it it would be Monday and I'd still be a mess.

I'd be up for a few days away from the Mrs and Boy after this long to be honest as they would from each other too.

The novelty has well and truly worn off - there are so many films, TV series, albums, and things you can stomach.

I've started working longer and longer days again because it's something different really not a good situation for anyone to be in.

Last summer I was caining it a lot at weekends sitting in the garden....drinking, smoking weed and a fair bit of nosebag  (weekend only) with the girlfriend....we decided at New Years to knock it on the head for the time being so i'm 6 weeks off everything apart from drink and my body does sure appreciate it but it has meant a lot of dull evenings/weekends.

I'm not really at TV person apart for football but my Nintendo Switch took a hammering to start with now even that's boring!

So by your logic, somebody that was once convicted of a crime is automatically guilty of the next one they are accused of without fair trial? Just go on past experience and lock them up before hearing their side of things?

Again, I feel the need to point out that I think this government is useless and have acted criminally throughout (both by sheer incompetence and callousness) but they can’t be criticised for how we are going to come out of this lockdown when they haven’t even published it yet!

I suggest you read more into it and also into the UK’s biological security strategy, published in 2018 to address the threat of pandemics, which was not properly implemented. It’ll give you good insight into this.

That analogy doesn’t really work as they too completely different things. In this instance we have seen many different aspects of their handling of this, we have the SAGE minutes so we can behind the scenes what was being recommended and then what was done as a result. They’ve fucked it twice coming out of lockdown so I’m not going to give them another chance and assume this time will be different.

It's fucking shit, innit?

We've got it better than most - just two of us, plenty of space, in a beautiful part of the country and with all the advantages modern technology can bring and even I'm going out of my mind with boredom.  Every day is the fucking same!  We've worked for 3 months since this started, last summer, and it's looking like it'll be the summer before we start again.

Yeh....a few weeks ago Chris Moyles said on the radio the difference between those with children and those without is boredom.  Very true.

I mean for a few weeks/months is tolerable but now we are at almost a year and all I'm clinging onto is that Boris says something on the 22nd Feb that gives me some hope of light out of this.

I'm furloughed aside from Mondays when luckily I go into Oxford for work.  So my routine is that,  thenTuesday-Sunday fuck all apart from the weekly shop at Tesco and putting the bins out...its even too cold for my full daily walk at the moment.

My mental health (which is usually top notch) has taken a hammering this last year with all the ups and downs with home life, work, no holidays, things cancelled same for everyone I know.....don't know whether I'm coming or going half the time.

I don’t find it tiring at all criticising them, in fact I find it quite entertaining to hold them to account for their mistakes.

As a casual reader of this thread, this is obvious and it’s boring to read.

    • Sun's out today. Can feel the hills calling. Time to ramp up the energy levels. I've been easing my way in gently the last 2 weeks with the likes of Hayley and Lael Neale and Cut Worms and Maria Somerville etc. Time to unleash some Shame, Mogwai, Place to Bury Strangers and especially Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.  Also, just back from a brilliant night in Belfast at the Fleadh Ceoil so anything with a fiddle or a whistle or a squeeze box is drawing me like the Sirens. Madra Salach with the volume up. COME ON!!
    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
