First thing I'll be doing is latitude so I have a feeling there'll be no worries in normal life after that...

Same here! Also have an end of year meal with my work the night before and I also have my birthday the weekend after so I can finally plan things for that. I’ll try and be as cautious of things as I can but in all honesty I’m so excited to get back into it 😄

only a slither of people make it beyond 5+ years, and usually those move on before they get too expensive to keep hired.

Can't tell if this is a scathing attack on the moral character of these people or a typo.

Looking forward to ordering a pint at the bar, standing round with my pals not having to forward think about how many are going etc and plan the whole day/night bar by bar weeks in advance.

I'm sure the novelty will soon ware off and I’ll be back sat at the table ordering on my app but exciting times!

I wonder whether some pubs/bars will have to decide on app or bar service rather than operating both.

I just have visions of lots of people moaning that their app order is taking longer because of a queue at the bar or people at the bar waiting for ages whilst the app orders are delivered!

Not going to downvote you. Just going to enjoy your faux outrage and tears. We are getting our freedom back in two weeks and there is absolutely nothing you lockdown loving weirdos can do about it. Pleasing 🙂

Taking pleasure in the distress of others. Is that necessary? What do you get out of it? Sad really.

Me too. I'm going to rinse out as much enjoyment as possible from those four days and nights. Right now, I can't look beyond that. Despite everything that's been said today, in my eyes, the situation has never been more uncertain

Doesn't mean you have to do it as well 🤷

You are right.

I don't think anyone has sat there and mocked/laughed as we got put into any of the lockdowns. I remember people actually being pretty supportive and offering advice.

That doesn't answer my question really.

We all want out of this. Please don't be so mean to people.

I’m sorry for being mean.

I don’t believe that we all want out of this though. There are posters who have clearly expressed a preference to keep restrictions.

I belive they are just concerned that this may not be the best path out of this. It probably doesn't always read that way. Emotional times really.

One day we'll all be sat in a field at a certain farm and look back at these times thankful that's its over and we got through it.

Have a greenie 🙂

I guess the we will tell our grandkids about the pandemic in the same way they told us about WW2. An absolutely bizarre period in our lives.

Spain are rocketing along with the vaccinations!

It’s good to see the major EU countries really ramping up their rollouts now. They had a woefully slow start and took some well deserved criticism for it but they’ve gotten their arses into gear now and they deserve a lot of credit for doing that.

Yup. No medals this time tho (except for the NHS which was great to see).

Who, exactly? I don’t recall anyone in this thread saying they’d prefer restrictions to stay forever.

Differences of opinion about when restrictions are lifted, absolutely yes.

Same with a few discussions of longer lasting hygiene measures like masks and wfh. I suppose some people might call that sort of thing restrictions.

But do you really think anyone here wants this shit to last a second longer than it has to? 🙄

    • This. I always read in awe the hatred toward the festival and Gerendai.  I see no chance of it being cancelled, except if something worse happens, like the whole electric grid collapses or something. But that’s not really a case. Worst case scenario is that the whole thing will be ran by diesel generators for the sake of the environment.
    • they are shutting down the nuclear power plant until Friday ; sziget starts 3 days later plus, they said they will have to import energy.    So I see no point in cancelling an event that will make them lose money
    • Finally a sensible suggestion for the legends slot
    • Definitely up for this next year. Would rule Megadeth out for Download though
    • My fellow Hungarians always find a reason why Sziget should be cancelled every single years Now it’s at least a bit valid but I would say it’s highly unlikely.
