First jab this morning. Got a mad mix of emotions going on with anxiety, relief and pride all at once!

Feel great so far although expecting the shivers tonight as everyone I know has had them.

There's a school in Miami that are laying off teachers if they DO get the vaccine for the same stupid 'reasons'.

I can't fathom these people, they live in an alternative reality built out of their own stupid egos.

Had my first this morning too (Brap brap the Pfizer massive!). Bit of a sore arm but that’s all so far. Had family round for the first time in a year and saw my Sister for the first time in 18 months. Don’t think we did a very good job Social Distancing (my Mum/Dad/Sister have had both their jabs) but what the hell. It was a good day all round.

Ahhhh jealous! How old are you? I’m slumming it with the AZ crew.

Still no side effects, feel a bit weird but then I often do 🙂

I’m going to be the same. Not going to know if I’m feeling any side effects or it’s just my usual aches and pains. Had the AZ at lunchtime so will see if I feel anything tomorrow.

Ah cool we could compare notes as we go. Dunno when the all clear is for the chills and headaches? Looking forward to that. On the plus side if I do feel rough tomorrow I’ll get a free pass for the school run 👍

Few they'll be glad Fake SAGE approve

Let’s give fake SAGE credit where credit is due, they’ve genuinely said that holding it in the UK will allow a larger amount of fans to attend. Surprised that they haven’t started scaremongering about the Villa Park variant that will surely be mutated as a result of the game.

What was the issue last summer that was making it spread?   There, Oldham, Rochdale etc were always the worst and it can't just be shops because it would surely be rising everywhere if so. There can be less vaccine uptake as one piece of the puzzle but Bolton was always an outlier in terms of spreading when everywhere else wasn't when the vaccine wasn't a factor, so feels like there's more to it

I have a Bolton post code. Must be my fault!

I can't answer your question. I'd say the Asian community aren't as diligent at wearing masks - or wearing masks properly - but I can't see why it would be worse in Bolton. I know a large number in Bury went to Pakistan for several weeks at the beginning of the year because their kids were late coming back for school reopening, so it may be connected to that. The virus situation is not great in Pakistan, but not at Indian levels.

Ha amazing

I just want to be pedantic and say that’s not actually Dracula’s castle. It’s the one the tourists all go to as it’s the most scenic one in the area but they don’t think old Vlad actually lived there.

I have been to one of his actual castles but seeing as it’s up a 500 step stairway up a mountain it’s not really that accessible.

Just provisionally signed up for the Valneva vaccine trial where you get the vaccine and also up to 600 quid, but I'm not 100% sure I want to do it yet.

The vaccine candidate sounds impressive from the reports I've been reading, but has there been much talk of how being part of a trial would work for any potential vaccine passports? For example, you've been vaccinated but not with AZ or Pfizer, so would a country stop you entering, or would a nightclub not consider it as valid? Or do we just not know at this stage?

Apologies if this has already been asked!

I’m 44. Was surprised it was Pfizer. Absolutely knackered now and going to bed but you know, I’m 44. It’s not *that* out of the ordinary.

Whatever nerds

How patronising can they be? I get they want to keep safe but I think most people are capable of hugging another safely, like generally how short is the average hug? No more than a few seconds?
