I remember the old, official forums. I abandoned eFests like the fickle fucker I am and spent all my time reading the Ask Infoman thread.

Then they abruptly sacked Infoman and handed the forums over to someone else (Virtual Festivals?)

In those days I didn't haunt the forums all year round and returned a few months later to find the place completely deserted apart from a long, tedious thread where the admins were naval gazing about some unknown "incident", only pausing to growl at anyone who dared discuss bands outside the Campfire sub-forum.

They had far too many sub-forums for the reduced number of posters, leading to every sub-forum feeling empty, meaning anyone like me who wanted a Glastonbury forum to read+post in hung around for five minutes before hitting Google and going straight back to eFests.

I hung around there in my student days, so it was a choice of posting shit on the internet or working on my dissertation. No prizes for guessing what won.

And?

I should have expected that response, I posted it as Tootsie was one of the regular posters on the board along with Porkalot his partner, I thought it would jog a few memories, and was just a play on the "cross" joke.

I don’t think you needed to link to a person.

We are getting to stage now where it’s ‘this time last year...’ I remember this interview, it hardly seems a year ago.

A politician with a grasp on detail and a very clear vision of how to take action.

And 12 sodding months ago.

Johnson may have gone to the same school and the same university as him but intellectually and in terms of leadership qualities they are galaxies apart.

The difference is Rory Stewart wasn’t being advised by the Chief Scientific Advisor to wait until spread was accelerating before locking down rather than lock down early to stop spread happening at all.

Still doesn't sound like all restrictions removed for 4th July - smaller gatherings only. Makes our 21st June look, again, a little less realistic than we might hope

I dont care about the July 4th thing. I care that in a month and a half anyone who wants a shot should be able to get one when they can get through whatever means is available. The administration has always been about under promising and once again, over delivering. I dont think mask wearing is going anywhere til at best the holiday season but thats being really optimistic with thag.

    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
