Don't blame her...

Where you joking or do you genuinely want to work over xmas?

I wouldn’t mind working. I probably will do some work from home as well. Normally the manufacturing sector closes for 2 weeks over Christmas and we have to use some of our annual leave to cover those missed days.

Most of our workforce isn’t going anywhere now as the borders have now been closed and we’re still ridiculously busy in terms of orders. If no one is celebrating other than xmas day itself we might as well stay open apart from the bank holidays.

A Sainsbury's spokesman said all of its Christmas lunch products were "already in the country" and it was looking at alternative ways of sourcing products from Europe.

But he added: "If nothing changes, we will start to see gaps over the coming days on lettuce, some salad leaves, cauliflowers, broccoli and citrus fruit - all of which are imported from the Continent at this time of year."

That's the New Year diet resolution gone for a burton  then 😄

and I guess if people dont mind having a profitable buisness keeps people in jobs longer term ...

Carp sounds one of the least appetising things in the world to me.  I don't eat fish anyway, but a fat, freshwater fish like that is going to taste like my dad's old tacklebox.

'Muddy' gets used a lot as a description. Lovely.

Could be worse, half of central/eastern Europe has carp. And same as turkey, everyone I know complains they don't really like it, but, you know, tradition

It's got to be a bird and turkey simply isn't as good as goose.

Carp is crap.

A gander is grander.

😂😂 - her mum apparently does salmon on christmas day so I consider gammon in cider a win, in comparison!

Salmon sounds great!!!!

I was at the beach for Christmas day one year. We had bbq'd fish. It was amazing!

Bbq'd mince pies and sausage rolls surprisingly didn't work so well...

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
    • I have a spare campervan pass to get rid of.  unable to use Kaboodle as it is only entry that they re-sell
