Quark
Still running an xbox 360, but they recently released an absolute barrage of old original xbox games onto the xbox live store so I suspect I'll be downloading a few!

I really enjoyed the ones on PS2 but this one looks pretty different. Will probably still check it out. Think I might finally play The Last of Us too. We're doing supermarket runs for them every fortnight, leaving the goods on the front path and keeping our distance. But there's a independence issue going on, they are fiercely independent, they want to online shop but cannot, and here's why. First, they are not the fastest cats on the web - filling up the basket took them 2hrs, but there were no delivery slots at all. The one time they got one, they discovered that 2-factor authentication for their credit cards had not been set up and so lost the slot. I've set them up with skype and used MS Teams to run through the process with them - all to no avail. We will continue the food runs for them and they have wonderful neighbours who can help. There must be many thousands of elderly in this situation, not able to fend for themselves for the first time ever. It's up to us to knock on a few doors and not just offer to help, but to understand their fear that this scary and not what they want. A card though the door is good, but a physically distant (not socially!!) conversation might be needed too. Sorry if this is off topic a bit. Hi. Why don’t you set it all up for them in your name but get shopping delivered to their address. Assuming you can get a slot. I have had shopping delivered to a different address from mine when I went on holiday to self catering place
Little Andy
I'm a naturally indoorsy person, other than rare ventures backpacking or to Glastonbury. There's a million fun things to do indoors that most people haven't tried, so see if any of these new hobbies take your fancy ... Writing (blog, book, film, poetry, etc) Learn an instrument (Learn covers, write music) Crafts (knitting, sewing, I dunno ...) Art (painting, drawing) Video Games (countless varieties) Books Films Tv Shows Board Games Learn a language Learn how to make software Learn ANYTHING and a billion other things. Find something new and fun you naturally enjoy.

WestCountryGirl
Currently feeling very grateful for my boyfriend being big into the video games. Have an Xbox One, PS4 and spiffy gaming PC at my disposal. He also got a Valve Index just over a week ago, so Beat Saber has been my primary source of exercise for the last self-isolating week. However, he purchased the Index solely for the release of Half Life: Alyx, which is out in approximately four and a half hours time, so my hours on the PC are now limited...
morph100
I’ve got a Super Nintendo Mini which I’ve hacked and filled with games from various retro systems. After SNES I’m not that interested in. also have a way of getting eBooks for free which is good to test out some without committing to buying (obvs if you like you should buy). Wife already lost job to virus though so cheap/free activities are best at minute. also getting the board games back out 🙂 just been for a jog in countryside and dodged people by 3 meters and washed hands upon reentry to house. Think I will be treadmill bound soon enough though.

We're all confined to our houses, and you're actively digging out the things that have caused more family arguments than literally ANYTHING in history, even What Your Cousin Linda Said To Your Nan About Me At Your Sister's Wedding? WestCountryGirl
The one board game I can't bring myself to play at the moment is Pandemic. Too soon. The real life version is stressful enough.
Wellyboot
Apparently I'm a key worker so I'm still in work but there's hardly anyone here. Lots of people sent home on Friday for their BMI's, asthma and diabetes. There's usually about 600 people in the building and I rekon we're down to maybe 150 Wish I was home playing board games
northernringo
A decent little project that may interest some on here is getting a Raspberry Pi and setting it up as a game emulator. I did it a couple of years ago following a YouTube tutorial and have it stocked up with PS1 games and other older console games too.

Gilgamesh69
So £150 for a 250GB PS4 with a few games chucked in too. Is that decent? Want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off

Last year I ordered one of these from a company called Pi Retro Gaming (don't touch them with a barge pole btw). Never arrived and I got my money back from the credit card company, but it's definitely given me the bug for getting one. Might look into it and come back to you for tips if that's cool? Want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off It’s not a terrible price, about par with what you’d pay on eBay for a second hand machine depending on what the games are. 250gb seems small though, I’m not even sure they made them that small. Sure it’s not 500? Edited March 23, 2020 by Hugh Jass

jparx
I've been quite busy so far - I thought working from home would be tough but i've got loads done so far. Animal Crossing has been a blessing. I've also started playing the MGS series again. Just defeated Grey Fox. I've essentially realised that my way of handling this thing is to engross myself in things I enjoyed when I was 12. I dug out some Warhammer and started doing some painting, then whacked on WWF Raw from this week in 1998. Then I'll be have a major Simpsons sesh tomorrow and playing through Tomb Raider 1-3 is next up after that. Mixed in with some gardening and walks, it's been alright so far. I feel very fortunate though to have good internet access and haven't had any issues getting food.
