I'm sure people were saying that last time, then they released another album.

Sorry, still don't understand what they've done to go up a rung to sub material since their last appearance six years ago, new album/s or not. I like VW but their third album completely passed me by.

Not that awards mean anything but I think it won a Grammy and to festivals, having a Grammy elevates an artist I reckon

I reckon they're a sub, they're certainly a lot more well known than The National.

Subbing The Strokes or The Cure would be a dream come true, I imagine there would be quite the exodus if they were on before stormzy, seeing the difference in crowds stormzy  at Fib and Vw at eotr was crazy, though I know they’re basically opposite demographics

Sidebar to say that Unbelievers is one of the best servings of pop music anybody's ever made, I remember them dropping that animal really early on in the EotR set and I though "oh shit this is really going off". Pretty much immediate transition from floating voter hanging around to see what the fuss is about, to extreme die-hard VW zelot.

Wtf. Just watched that live new drop New York vid and WOW. Ive never bothered with them because of the name... I thought it was going to be emo teeny bop crap for the twilight fans (especially when they came out when everything was vampires).

Damnit. I was so wrong. Now I know what I'm doing this weekend at least (vampiring it).

I'd never heard that song when I saw them cause it's not on any album but the hook is so catchy, it had everyone dancing

One my faves OAT. Have you checked out the Ezra Furman rendition? You’ll love it.

Anywhere here's New Dorp again to remind everyone how fucking great the new live band is

This is why they can’t play until it’s dark.

Hey, that's the other Ezra I didn't stan before EotR and then did afterwards.

So Ive been letting vampire weekend play on spotify for a few hours... and realized I know quite a few of their songs I just had a major dissociation.

Everyone always knows their songs without realising but are put off by their name or assume they’re completely different to what they are and don’t know just how great they are. However people never know anything off Modern Vampires and that is by far their best album. All in all, I’m estatic at the prospect that they’re at the farm this year.

New song is firmly stuck in my head. Playing it a few times a day at the moment. Going to have to be a hell of a year musically to dislodge that from my songs of the year come December.

Was a lot of major publications album of the year and as a fan I thought it was their best release yet. Remains to be seen if the new album will have the same impact but it’s definitely a massively hyped album, especially after the six year wait.

Correct.

Modern Vampires is one of the albums of the decade. The previous two albums were maybe an 8-9/10 But Modern Vampires is stupid good.

The one time I saw VW, they were supporting Dizzee Rascal in Belfast
