Pretty tough for them to fit it in but:

It's not that tough to fit in really. They have all three days off and there's lots of flights from Berlin to Bristol... No idea if they would do it again so quickly but if they were given a good slot it is very possible.

No they’re playing Stockholm the same day as PJ too. So something like Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, all with Pearl Jam.

edit: chill on Sunday

Ah ok that's different then. Seems unlikely in that case.

Tobe honest they had a good slot last year so think it would suit them to have a year off and return triumphantly in 2021

Agree completely. With a crowning Park set and a victory lap on the Truth Stage, they hardly need to rush back and playing to massive crowds elsewhere will surely be a thrill for them.

Caught these guys in London last night, they were absolutely immense. Would love to see them on the farm again this year. Danny Nedelko is up there with the best live songs I've ever

I see them headlining somewhere Sunday ?

Genuinely had one of the best times on Wednesday night.

We ended up in a pub just down the road from the academy with the nicest people around. Turns out we'd actually ended up at the AF gang meet up by chance - my friend who wasn't a huge IDLES fan (simply due to knowledge) was taken aback. We ended up with 4 other people and had such a good time. My friend commented that it 'restored his faith in humanity'.

At the actual gig I ended talking to Dev the bassist by the merch stand, I did mention Glastonbury but didn't get a direct response... I did however end up with a free tour t shirt off the merch guy. I then, quite literally, walked into Tank Barclay from the Rattlesnakes! Had a few words with him and made my way forward.

Top gig, perhaps the hottest I've ever come out of one too! Such a good night...

To finish the night the last train was cancelled, we ended up on a coach that would have took 3 hours home so we got an UBER with two random people... one of which turned out to be off Coronation Street!

Quite an evening all in all.

Since the Leeds/Reading line up is out, and IDLES are not a Leeds/Reading Festival Exclusive.  I'm goni hold on to the improbable but not impossible chance of them being at Glastonbury.  Yes, they are busy on the Thursday/Saturday and Monday, but it's a wee hop, skip and a jump from Berlin.  So maybe JP headliners Friday or Sunday? Maybe even a secret set?

I see them on Sunday in JP headlining. Would be fucking epic.

Would love them to get a Pyramid slot, but they’re more likely to get shoved in either the John Peel, or worse, Other. Think/hope they’ll be booked though.

High up the John Peel would be preferred over the Other for sure.

For bands like Idles, stages like John Peel and Other are surely much preferable to an early afternoon Pyramid slot.

Still excited for new album stuff but man I hope they’ve deleted that last song off it.

I guess Idles with a third album they could headline a small stage, they deserve it and they have that size... My favourite band out there.

I would love to see in the farm next year Fontaines DC, Shame, Idles and Squid. All touring.

Crossing fingers!

John Peel would be the best given their style of music, but a Pyramid slot would still be brilliant I reckon.

I got the feeling that song they released was a one off rather than a song from the new album, or at least I hope so. Whilst I didn’t dislike it as much as you seemed to, it really did seem like a throwaway rather than the start of their new album campaign.

    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
