Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Nothing else as yet. Again, tenuous, but had been informed it was likely a run of UK arena shows in late April / early May, followed by a handful of European dates across June, finishing with BST Hyde Park.

This seems to throw the former out of the window. Spacing there makes me think there will be a second night in Birmingham, at the very least.

Doves seem close to announcing something

This would make my year tbh.  Jimi seems to have been doing ok given his activity with the 'NightjaR' project earlier this year, so full Doves activity looks like a real possibility 🙏

Not a poster but Mystery Jets have been added to all dates but Leeds on Courteeners' autumn run next month, alongside DMA's.

In Leeds, an acoustic set from Reverend and the Makers will fill the secondary support slot.

Pretty good value at £65 that one, looking forward to it

Really limited pool of headliners though. Next year will be its 4th year running, and they've already repeated headliners twice (My Chemical Romance in 2022 and 2024 + blink-182 in 2023 and 2025)

Yeah, very small pool at that level but if it's your style of music I doubt that would put anyone off buying a ticket. With such a loaded undercard and multiple stages even with the same lineup every year which is often the case, you could see a fairly different set of bands.

I can't see the repeat headliners putting off ticket buyers. If your a big Blink or MCR fan, knowing there is a festival they will play on rotation must be bliss.

Scissor Sisters reunion shows incoming. Appears to be an arena tour - logo is being teased on Co-op Live this afternoon.

Arenas feel a bit ambitious

They did arenas on the tours for their second and third albums and I assume the fondness for the work of their first two albums should get a few punters in.

I feel like I could be amiable to going. Their discography has some belters in it.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
