Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Hey everyone - hopefully this is OK here.

I have a spare ticket to see Adrianne Lenker (Big Thief) acoustic show at Earth in Hackney tonight. My girlfriend has had to pull out last minute because she is unwell. These tickets went pretty quick and following their incredible shows at Shepherds bush this week I thought someone might be interested.

Message me if you are - just asking what I paid minus fees which is £30. Thanks!

Barrowland date for Phoebe Bridgers, surely the UK dates are coming this week with the false alarm last week.

Ah that's annoying, that would be a brilliant gig! That's both Phoebe and Sharon Van Etten playing my favourite venue when I'm at Glastonbury, I suppose I can't complain too much but fingers crossed she doesn't clash with anyone.

That’s “she’s exclusive at Latitude” to at least 2 sets at Glasto in a few days. Good job.

I’d assumed she’d put both dates down because it’s yet to be officially confirmed and she’s just playing ball, but her playing multiple sets is an interesting theory.

Bon Iver did both Park headline and Other daytime in ‘09, and The xx in ‘10 - wonder if she could be doing double duty too?

Maybe but you would think the tour manager would want to know where they are going to be so they can organise everything

Personally, I love what Vampire Weekend did in 19: big Pyramid show and a opening on the Park at like 11.

I can't see any days for Down the Rabbit Hole on their website, so it is interesting if she's specifying a couple of days for Glastonbury but putting down specific days for other festivals which don't have day splits. Bit gutted to be missing the Glasgow gig so if she is playing twice that would definitely help in allowing me to see her as she'll no doubt clash with someone.

Very interested to see how The Prodigy present the live show now.

I dont think people would have an issue if they had somebody else on stage with Maxim to do Keith's parts and all. It would be just a matter of whom they had. I hope its not just his voice being overlayed on the pa.

Hoping when  the tour sells out that a glasto appearance is in the works.

Probably have some vintage Keith visuals and pre-records for his vocals, with Maxim and others doing the crowd hype thing. Will be weird at first but I'm sure they have enough footage from him that it's actually going to be a pretty nice tribute. Might grab tickets as they're relatively small venues.

Good sleuthing. That’s promising then. Hopefully all this worrying about missing her has been unwarranted then.

Stage will look pretty empty with just Maxim up there. Used to be Maxim, Keith and Leroy.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
