Apologies CaledonianGonzo - I tried to up vote you for this one, but in my trigger happy shakey state, I managed to down vote you as well. This was never meant to be.

By the way, I've always wondered - are you actually a Caledoniam Gonzo - in the journalistic sense, as opposed to the life style choice? Or any other numbers of reasons, really.

I love that album.  This is also a belter:

Then there's this stonker out of Iran:

Ah. Pair of stoaters there, cheers.

Found that Esmeray tune on one of those indie comedy movies that they have. Forgot the movie but I've been digging that album and exposing myself to 60's/70's Turkish pop since. It's a gold mine!

Those of us who saw Steve Hillage join The Beat may enjoy this

Not a Hillage composition but a personal favourite and just look at those flares (and no danger of personal injury, please note). Remember kids, the Turin Shroud is NOT an old Steve Hillage t-shirt

I always thought that Harrison got closer to the sound/feel of an acid trip on this song than anything Lennon did.  Particularly Ringo's drum sound on the original.

Sweet B-sides were a thing of joy, sounding like they wanted to sound like despite them sucking at the ChinniChap teat to rake in the dosh:

It was similar with Slade wasn't it? And live both bands were alot heavier/rockier than you would imagine from their A sides..

    • Yet again we’re missing the WH Sunday reggae slot
    • Occident has got larger over the years and there's relatively little overlap with mbv and OR fans that I think it would work fine as it would divide the crowd so effectively.   They don't even need to give the biggest stage from an optics perspective either, this would be billed as a secret short set and used to promote her new album.
    • Really like this! Few artists a bit low I reckon like the Reytons, Yard Act, the Royston Club and Florence Road but I’d absolutely take this!
    • Yeah Olivia Rodrigo walked right past me when leaving the crowd during The Cure set.   I had to escape where I was in the crowd so was just chilling in the bottom left corner when she walked through with a couple of others.    Thought it was her or someone who looked incredibly like her but no-one else seemed to pick up on it, either not bothered or just too engrossed in their own conversations to not notice..
    • Why?   It’s all made up nonsense, an illusion for the masses.   Who do we owe these numbers on a server to, and how will they collect them?
