I don't mind the Beatles but I have never been one to watch an act just to tick them off so to speak.

I could not watch Macca knowing that one of my fave bands were playing at another stage.

Now if I get a ticket, I will have to watch Hot Chip on my own as literally all my group want to watch Macca. I would not regret watching Hot Chip where as I know that I would with Macca.

Hot Chip > Macca

If you get a ticket, I'll join you! I haven't done a poll as yet, but I imagine that there's gonna be a fair few of my crew that won't be able to resist the large-scale singalong....

I will be there by hook or by crook so will hold you to that. I warn you now regarding my not quite dad dancing ?

Hot Chip is undeniably the better live act at the moment, assuming Hot Chip are anything like as good as they were on their 2015 tour - but Macca is never going to play Glasto again and he's a Beatle. Tricky.

I'm gonna have to drag my mates to see Macca.

Imagine that, DRAGGING people to see an actual THE BEATLE. Clowns. Didn't even stand up when Robert Plant took to the stage and played one of the greatest songs of all time.

Love 'em though.

Id have to be dragged too, a lot of people find the beatles boring myself included, I love music from the 60s and 70s but the beatles for me are one of the worst from that time period along with the rolling stones. painfully white one might describe them.

The Thursday night thing is always pretty big and it just gets crowded; I can’t see Hot Chip being the act to turn people crazed and violent.

Haha, yeah fair enough. All those burnt tongues though ??‍♀️ .

Ill take it, provided I can get near it.

If The Beatles and Stones are the worst of the 1960’s, who’s the best?

I mean theres are far too many good acts to list Aretha Franklin had a pretty astounding 60s anything on Stax Records, B.B king, The Doors. John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Hendrix (I know he broke in UK first) to name a few from the America, if where speaking Brtish, John Mayal and Bluesbreakers, King Crimson, Cream, Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac, The kinks I mean there are many many great artists from that era and we could keep going on but I mean theres not much point, the Beatles and Rolling Stones are just quite bland.

    • Thanks man for sharing your thoughts. I would say i generally agree with you and do agree people close to the podium should position themselves further back if they want to have full conversations and apparently are not interested in the music; to fair it is mind boggling these people are even there as chatting gets so much easier in the back field. That said i did not really have the same experience as you, front rows for example at MBV, Men I trust, Big Thief, NewDad, Slowdive, where really into the music.    yes i BBK is really high on our list but we just realized it is next year 25 years of Primavera so perhaps we do one more.
    • When does the Thursday lineup get announced? I see they had Moonchild Sanelly and Young Knives last year, would be cool to get something along those lines again.
    • Where did you see this?
    • No idea how it'll work in a festival setting but really enjoying Prewn at the moment.
    • Lineup announced, with the dates having been pushed back to 12th and 13th September. Tickets on sale tomorrow 8:30am.   12th September Chaka Khan Jack Savoretti Lulu Emeli Sande Texas ABC The Script   13th September Simple Minds Deacon Blue Level 42 Appleton Blue James Blunt Cast   I think it’s a pretty weak lineup compared to previous years to be honest - and think it’s quite lazy they’ve gone down the Scottish route so much (not sure Simple Minds would be classed as a headliner elsewhere in the UK).
