Just wondering: does anyone think Garth Brooks could be a potential headliner?

On the basis of him wearing his silly trouser harness and swinging over the crowd while waving his cowboy hat in homage to the end of Dr Strangelove, absolutely.

Beyond stupid mental images that make me laugh and get me through the day, no.

I reckon we will hear about them playing Glastonbury if/when the Glasgow show sells out?

I reckon Glasto will be held back for a long time, so that it has minimum effect on sales for all of the other shows (not just in the UK).

I wouldn't be too surprised if they're not announced until April.

The Cure have been announced to play Glasgow Sessions in August which pretty much rules them out for TRNSMIT (if they weren't already).

The fact it's GSS and not TRNSMT tells you a lot about what they reckon they can sell.

Wouldn’t you have thought the fact people have missed on Glasto would help ticket sales, don’t see why it should hold it back. They are selling it on the last time they headlined was ages ago so I’d doubt it would matter too much.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is down to creative control. GSS seems to have let Smith pick some of the bands, much like BST did. I'm sure it is no coincidence that the other two announced bands are former Cure support bands and are both Scottish. Not sure TRNSMT would allow give up that control.

I don’t get you jj, through being on the threads surely you pick up something but most posts have no common sense. The Cure aren’t going to appeal to people who to RandL and you don’t seem to use information we get to use yourself. You don’t pick up anything that is said.

Please use the replies you get to absorb information and at least say things that could be realistic.

If they headline I apologise and will give you a tenner.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
