Rhythm of the 90's have confirmed for Thursday night.

"Yes that's right folks! Croissant Neuf Stage in Green Fields. Thursday night 11pm! We will be kick starting Glastonbury Festival 90s style!!!"

They were fantastic at Victorious Festival last year. Had a massive crowd. Played a 2 hour set of 90's dance classics.

That looks like great fun. Not mcuh of the crowd seem to be appreciating it in the first vid but my mates and I would love it, especially as a warm up for the night out

This is going to be awesome! Baggy Mondays at 7 in the Stonebridge bar then get ready for this after. What a Thursday night!

Reckon that will have a huge crowd. Baggy Mondays then over to them a bit later. 20,000+ watching them at Victorious. Went down a storm. 90's Thursday, can't wait!!

This reminds me of Travis on that stage but I think it'll full up quicker as I won't be surprised if 80% of the people combining the Baggys set inside and out for the tent head the same way after.

Going to pitch up my normal place I think and top up on a couple of ciders before hand in the break/food pit stop.

Head to the stone circle after....not happening haha, kasbah or wills green if they have guilty pleasures on but by that time and lack of sleep probably kasbah.

May have been mentioned in another thread, but someone in the crowd ( @mjsell?) at last night's Sylvan Esso gig shouted 'Glastonbury?'  and they responded with a rather coy, hushed 'yeah, yeah...'

All their announcements have been pointing in exactly that direction.  It's like John Grant in 2014, where he wasn't on the rumours list, (due to, well... no rumours), but all the circumstantial evidence in the world pointed to his turning up.  Which is exactly what happened when the first poster dropped.

It was Jamie's Song that got me into them.  Who knew that an episode of a science podcast talking about mental health was a way to discover new bands?  The podcast is about a women who needed Lithium to keep herself stable - and the song captured the emotional essence of the story perfectly.  I still remember where I was when I heard it, walking down the street  - I just had to stop walking and replay the song about three times before I could do anything else.

I don't know if the impact was so strong because it was unexpected, but  I found it incredibly moving at the time.  If you get chance, listen to the podcast.  I can't guarantee being emotionally affected, but I can pretty much guarantee it'll be a fascinating listen.  And explains everything about the song.

Dd they play Jamie's Song?

They did not. Only non-new album were Dress, HSKT, Hey Mami, Coffee, Play it Right.

Also interesting story, I shall check it out - I've got it bookmarked for a lunch break next week :)

Becoming mine and the wifes tradition to find something a bit different on the Thursday night. Last time, 2015, it was The Lounge Kittens in the West Holts Bar followed by Wheel of Four Tunes, think this will be our Thursday night sorted this year, looks like proper good fun.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?    Just had another thought - Or even rent the land to the festival for CV pitches.......
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
