Stage Predictions 2017

I think Elbow will play third down. If they were subbing again I could only see it happening under Radiohead (given the competition for sub spots on the other two days) and I'm increasingly of a mind that The xx are taking that spot (as they should from a bookers point of view).

Plus I'd imagine Elbow are the kind of band/friends of the festival etc who probably wouldn't have much of an issue taking a slight demotion. Especially if it keeps them on the Pyramid.

Good effort this @kingcrawler

Standard ridiculously good Friday:

Radiohead. The xx. Iggy Pop. Angel Olsen. Solange. Hooton Tennis Club. Honeyblood.

Nightmare Saturday clash:

Bon Iver, Avalanches or Justice. RtJ. Paolo. Haim. Lemon Twigs.

Average Sunday but would probably be:

Flaming Lips. Teenage Fanclub. Jagwar Ma. Diana Ross.

All things considered would be more than happy with that.

Would be well pleased if we have as strong a bunch of acts as that. Killer Saturday night dilemma again tho and Iggy Pop, Death Grips, Father John and Angel Olsen clashing would be ridic.

My brother would have a stroke if Angel Olsen clashed with Death Grips.

That Saturday night at JPT would be pretty special for me with Bazza on the Pyramid before Glass Animals. Would be a bit gutted to miss Lady Gaga though.

Still cant see Justice headlining JP though - think they are more likely to take the WH slot that you've given Pet Shop Boys - which would give me the clash with Radiohead that I dont want

I tried to not have any obvious clashes but must have missed that, could easily swap FJM with Phoenix and Death Grips with White Lies for something more well rounded. Death Grips probably aren't too likely anyway but thought I'd include them since they're around in June and not an exclusive at Field Day.

I struggled to get rid of one of the Pyramid sub options so moved Royal Blood to Other sub as one of the big Other subs we've had recently like Paolo Nutini and Ben Howard where they've had the same set length as the more electronic act on afterwards.

Your Saturday night (Ed aside) is giving me palpitations :/ serious clashes.

Agreed.  Why would you give me Prodigy / Specials & Toots / Flaming Lips to choose between?  I mean, why would you do that?

Unreal mate. I don't think I'd know what to do. If I had to make the decision this minute, I think it'd be Prodigy. But that would change weekly leading up to G!

This is bad news.

I googled it and found an article in spring 2015 referencing there were rumours they'd be splitting after that year's festival tour. Hopefully a bit of misinfo that's took on a bit of a life of its own.

Here on a few of these comments is where I read about it. Tho if there was a rumour in 2015 maybe it's just something they like to tell people. Like when Morrissey keeps saying he's retiring or The Who doing countless farewell tours.

Or when Matt 42 says it's his final prediction

Would be the first year to have all-white West Holts headliners.

Can't see that happening with the great diversity that is glasto. Especially while having all male, all white Pyramid headliners, can see maybe chance the rapper or run the jewels headlining WH on friday.

Hopefully so. They were on top form at the Albert Hall a few months ago. Certainly no need to stop touring yet

Don't mention the Albert Hall show! If they do pack it in I'll kill myself for selling those tickets.

strong lineup, makes Coachella/Primavera/Wercther look kinda pale. "2 years of music crammed into 1" would certainly be true if thats somewhat the lineup. I miss Japandroids and Richard Ashcroft who both are touring in june. saturday is a nightmare. Justice v Bon Iver v Avalanches and Röyksopp v Moderat v Run the jewels

Not very stong on females for the headliners and subs.. Warpaint, Lady Gaga, Lorde. 3/30..

OK, Fuzz, you were doing quite well until you did this!

AND giving me a potential worst transfer on site in getting from Grizzly Bear on JP to Bonobo on Park!

:)
