Really?

Absolutely torrential here in fallowfield with thunderstorms. Well it was from like 10-1amish anyway

Nothing here. Well I went to bed at about 11, nothing then. Woke about 3 for an hour and up now. The path and windows outside are bone dry.

Hammered down here in Denton/Tameside at about 10pm , bit if thunder and a bit damp now. Sun looks like it's going to be putting in an appearance very soon though.

We had the thunderstorm and some rain, only 5 miles from you it's wet!

As I have got into Midd and towards town there are puddles. If there was anything at home, it couldn't have been much. It was all bone dry when I looked out at 3am

Just watched the local forecast and they said there was lots of uncertainty from Saturday onwards. If that is the case then I will take no notice at all of any forecasts for two weeks time.

They can only predict specific weather with any reasonable accuracy 3 days in advance. All you need to look at this point is the trend in pressure- if it's looking like just high pressure about, then the weather should be good and quite easy to predict. If it's just low pressure dominating, again it's easier to predict but will be bad. If there's a mix (which what its looking like) then it becomes unpredictable and we won't know what way things will go until a few days before hand.

At least that's what I have gathered from following these threads over the years!

Latest run has some low pressure hanging around:

Netweather GFS Image

Not a massive low and only on this run, but it needs to clear off in subsequent runs

So the main threats will be that low pressure to the north east and the one to the north west- I like that it's high pressure everywhere else

Accu weather and festi weather are looking good today, if we can just freeze frame that forecast that would be great :)

Still too much rain for my liking!

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
