Haha I had the exact same reaction. I almost spat out my tea.

Posts like that should start with *POTENTIALLY GOOD NEWS* so we don't all have heart attacks whilst reading it and trying to figure it out :P

Even though it's not a certainty that they will play a UK festival this year, I'd find it very surprising if they didn't when you consider the mythical new album and the European/worldwide dates. With every festival that gets ruled out, I think it certainly strengthens the argument they will be at Glastonbury in some form.

Every day that passes in which they aren't categorically ruled out, I feel a bit more hopeful. If we get to April and there's still a Glastonbury sized hole in their schedule with no UK festivals announced, the hype will be unbelievable.

Thom mumbles to an efester "we don't think the Pyramid sound is good enough"

+

"New, moved JPT"

+ (bad guesswork)

=

Radiohead to headline new, improved JPT on all three nights, playing slightly different shows each night, but you're only allowed to attend one (by wristband colour to ensure no overcrowding).  All your proposed setlists/ album preferences will be monitored by individual band member-related algorithms, and you will be required to attend the set that will teach you most/take you out of your contact zone.  So, that's Pablo Honey from start to finish for most...

Neil's quote from the Latitude Thread:

"I've had more than one bit of Radiohead info, and one of the bits, tho not explicit with it, ends up saying that they can't be doing Latitude.

It might not be true of course, tho other bits and pieces of info outside of anything specifically radiohead strongly suggest that it is."

So is the info. linked purely to Latitude, Neil? And we're just extrapolating this in Glastonbury terms. Or was it vice versa, i.e. you had Radiohead Glastonbury info. Thus potetially ruling out Lat'?

as much as I hate to break up all the lists, on the Latitude thread Neil has posted today that he has had more than one bits of Radiohead info and one of the bits, although not explicit with it, ends up saying that they can't be doing Latitude. (although, he points out, it might not be true).

So, it sounds like Latitude is also out.

It feels like it is going to be Glastonbury or no UK Festivals, maybe just their own big gigs.

Just to cheer you all up, if I was forced to bet on it, my money would go on Glastonbury of those options.

My info (tho I can't guarantee it's correct) is that Radiohead changed what they were planning to do to do something else instead. The most likely option seems to be Glastonbury, perhaps (probably, even) because a headline slot opened up that they were able to fill.

Separately, I've been told they're playing Glastonbury this year by the same guy who told me they'd be playing a secret set on the park whichever year that was (and i have a feeling he's given me other bits over the years too).

So to me that's saying they're much more likely to be playing than not. Tho I could be wrong, of course. :)

I had some fairly random info that (by what it says) would rule Radiohead out of doing Latitude, tho it didn't specifically mention Latitude.

I can't guarantee that what I heard is right, tho everything about what was said to me feels to be right, and everything about it seems to sensibly match up with various other bits of info.

That fairly random info is quite non-specific in it's actual substance, but you can make some very strong conclusions from it (such as the one about Latitude), and some less strong ones towards Glastonbury.

That then matches up with me being specifically told RH would be doing Glasto, and that info is from a proven-good RH source.

Which says to me they'll be playing (tho I might be wrong).

Yet again, thanks Neil.

This is as good as we're gonna get, I feel, until an actual announcement, one way or another.

Do you think this would be most likely to be Adele?

    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
    • Choosing  I think boycotting a festival you would usually attend simply because you don't like one of the acts is pretty petulant to be honest, just go and watch a different stage. There are plenty of the usual slam dunk attendees who would be into him, as well as attracting new festivalgoers too.
    • I've never felt it takes that long but I'm quite a fast walker 😂
