Radiohead touring in 2016

So after managing to get tickets in the presale on Wednesday, and spending a day being the most excited I've ever been for a gig in my life, I get an email from uni yesterday telling me my published exam dates were wrong and I now have an exam on the day of the gig and one a few days later. If I'd known this in advance or if I'd failed in the presale and was planning to try tomorrow I'd have sacked it off, but unfortunately I've now most likely thrown away £150 (I'm gonna have to pay my mate back who can't get in without me as it isn't his fault) which, for a uni student, is pretty fucking far from ideal.

The uni never even told us the published dates were provisional, and I have friends who have holidays booked which now clash with exams. Absolute joke.

The worst part is, if there was a way to re-sell tickets I could easily done so already as I know several people wanting them.

My only possible saving grace is that it's a practical exam with time slots spread through the day, so I'm going to call the uni and request a slot first thing and explain that if not they've screwed me out of £150 for being a bunch of arsewipes. If so, I'll see if it's possible for me to get to London for it, but even then I'll have been screwed on travel costs as I'll have to get a train instead of a coach. And with the type of exam it is a lot of unis quarantine you through the day anyway so you can't speak to other candidates so I'm most likely completely fucked. I also don't really wanna lose two days of revision just before my final exams.

Sorry for the rant I'm just unbelievably pissed off after being so happy. If I miss Radiohead at the Roundhouse whilst having tickets for it I'll kill someone or something.

It is probably worth speaking to roundhouse about it too and seeing if they can put them back on sale. Arcade fire had a similar ID only system when they played and with enough pestering we managed to get a refund because I'd used my mums card without thinking and it had to be the card holder who attended.

This sounds like a real cluster. Must be better ways of buying tickets than this? I get Radiohead want to play a cool, smaller venue, but if they want to do that they should run more dates IMO. 10,000 tickets for Radiohead's first UK show in 4 years is madness. There must be something more in the pipeline?

Says sold out on the official site. I got in for 2 Saturday tickets at 9.02, then got kicked out of the order page. Not a good system. Those with the fastest internet will always get through and the queue number means absolutely nothing - they were showing the same on every tab I had open on everydevice (4 including my girlfriend's laptop). I share all of your grief!

Yeah I'm going to. My friend's dad has just failed and told me he'll give me £100 extra if I manage to get them transferred to him (I wouldn't accept the extra), but there's no chance of that I don't expect.

I did do similar with RHCP on their last tour, as I'd used my mum's card without realising. However that took hours of phonecalls, her sending proof that she was in hospital and now couldn't attend (this was true but she was never planning on going) and also using the fact we (me and my brother) obviously have the same surname to convince them we hadn't touted them.

There will be, but next year.

It's not really that much of a saving grace though as even those arena shows are tough to get tickets for. If I fail on those too I'm gonna smash all my Radiohead CDs.

Oh My Fucking God!

I was SO sure that this was a dead duck. I got as low as 400ish on the Roundhouse site before my nervous F5 finger pinged me back to 2500+.

See Tickets seemed sold out after about 8 minutes, but i thought I'd keep on refreshing. Twice the See page seemed to offer me Friday tickets, only for me to select and then the next page changed to unavailable.

Then, about 4 minutes ago, it did it for a third time, and I only frickin' well got two tickets for Standing Level 1 on the Friday!

Fuck me, that was a like a mini-GF Ticket Day, in terms of heart rate!

Child 3, 14 years old, is a MASSIVE RH fan, and I'll be giving him his ticket as a surprise for his 15th birthday in April.

Can't believe it...

Sorry to all the eFesters who didn't get any, I didn't think for one minute that I would...

Keep going for a bit...

:)

it's a weird one, because on the one hand if they do more dates then it ruins any exclusivity and 'specialness' to the gigs (which obviously they're supposed to be), but as you say, 10,000 tickets is fucking insane. no doubt there'll be a bigger tour next year, but as dental says, not like you'll just be able to buy tickets willy nilly for that - it'll be just as much of a clusterfuck

Nope. Still in queues. Is it definitely sold out?

No idea. Have not even tried as no one said they wanted a hand.

I hope you get them. You seem to be cursed at present with getting tickets.

Cheers, Tuna.

So, just a GF ticket to get for you and your spring/summer is looking tidy.

Ben

Think I'm going to pass on Glastonbury actually (for a number of reasons)

God I wish you were my dad.

Edit: That sounded harsh, no offence meant to my dad. I just wish he would buy me surprise Radiohead tickets.

    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
    • Can't see Bimble line up anywhere - am I being dense and missing an obvious release somewhere?
    • Not expecting a tour imminently but Peter Gabriel would fit the vibes magnificently.
    • I have but a very long time ago and can remember nothing about it at all. Which I suppose is a review of sorts
    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.
