Not a believer, neither in the theory or the results. I don't think the dynamics work as well as listening to the albums individually. And the whole thing about the start and ending chords doesn't even work on paper.

Personally I tried the 01-10 playlist when it first got talked about a few years ago now. I liked it as a playlist as I always struggled to create Radiohead playlists for myself, preferring the albums in full. But the 01-10 thing at least gave a playlist some overarching concept.

Now though, there's too much on KOL and other brilliantly weird B-side & out-take releases like Com Lag & also the additional disc with the deluxe In Rainbows box set thingy that I'd need to include in any 'Head playlist. But I was already an avid WARP Records collector before the Kid A 'era' so it delighted me they went in that direction.

Nah. Martin happened to say how things stand, and he happened to say that to a reporter. He might not have known he was speaking to a reporter tho.

But just because he's saying they're after Adele doesn't mean they'll get her.

Martin once told me one April how they were going to have a particular band one year, while I knew enough to know that they had an announced date in the USA on Glasto weekend. He still insisted they'd get them, while I told him that I absolutely knew Glasto wouldn't, as that band rated the USA show far higher than they'd have rated Glasto at that time. Martin said the agent had promised him Glasto would get them, I told him Glasto definitely wouldn't. Glasto didn't get them.

There was nothing clever about what I knew (almost all of it was public domain), I just happened to know it, while he in his position didn't. I guess that's some sort of booker's bubble.

Whether or not Glasto has Adele I've no idea. My hunch (based on info, both public & private) says yes, but I wouldn't be surprised if she's turned them down.

I was going to post last night about the actual wording of what he said. to me, without knowing him obviously, what he said could quite easily be construed as just Glastonbury inquiring after her. I'm sure they make inquiries about many artists who they may wish to book. whether or not they actually get as far as sitting down for proper negotiations is another matter.

he said there was lots of talk about Adele, and that she was in the mix. This seems to have morphed into "in talks" in the media, and been reported elsewhere as "final negotiations".

he said "Hopefully it will happen and it still needs to be confirmed.", which seems like they could be in talks but could possibly just mean that it's aspirational and nothing at all has been agreed.

that's just on what he has said. obviously there may be more info out there regarding her which strengthens the case, but he didn't definitively say she was in serious discussions with Glastonbury in that Loaded article.

That's exactly what it means.

He might have a better idea of how warm she is back to the idea, tho. Or he might not.

It certainly doesn't mean she's definitely doing it,  but I do know they're dead keen to have her, and that they've been trying to talk her into doing it for a longer time than just the last few months. I'm 99% sure that her attending last June was a part of Glasto trying to persuade her to do it.

Given Adele has never really played big arenas (yeah, that again), it seems possible to me that while very much 'in the mix', she and her team would possibly want to wait until the tour is underway and she's found her feet before totally committing to G.  Which'd tie with what Mr Elborne said.

After (allegedly) a couple of go-rounds with the purple guy, it makes sense that Glasto wouldn't be banking on Adele to come through so they left it open - and lo! Radiohead turned up.  Now it's possible that the bookers are in the unheard of position of having too many interested headliners and have to make a cut or a deal.

A good unannounced set can steal the day's headlines.  Out of the possibles, Muse do seem the most likely to gain from doing something like that just now.  Cos it's not something they do.  It'd be "again?!" *yawn* if Radiohead did it and if Coldplay are finally stopping then they'll want to go out big.  Muse may have agreed in principle to that.  However until Adele $h1ts or gets off the pot, it's all in the air.

That's how I'm making sense of it all anyway.

Just purchased In Rainbows on vinyl. Fun afternoon coming up. My initial reaction when the record was first released was just 'meh', but after listening to it more and more over the past few years I think it's their second best album.

I'm a big fan of all three, only thing that would personally make missing NO more tolerable is that I saw them live recently. 

Would be a shame though as I think they could totally knock it out the park with their current live show.

The reason I want to see them at Glasto is because I've seen them recently, it was bouncing and I think they'll pull it out of the bag again. I've seen RH at Glasto but only the park secret set.....will be very torn of this situation arises

I never get why Kid A gets praise but Amnesiac gets blasted- they're both on a par for me. Not a fan of the electric noises and backwards shit tracks, but Knives Out,  I might be wrong, you and who's army,  life in a glass house and all the other proper songs are as good as the proper songs on kid A, in my opinion.
