Away, of course she would suit Glastonbury, the festival has got to have that hint of madness, there's got to be some diversity in the line up and hey, why not Miley

I'm not championing her music in fact I know next to none of it, you don't need to watch her, but if she played the pyramid maybe 3rd/4th down, I guarantee you thousands would

They would is she was a sub. I don't think she'd accept anything lower, she's pretty huge and if you think Shakira there is no size comparison. Even with Robert Plant, he got a 3rd space because of Led Zep, his own solo stuff with this new band is easily forgettable. Bigger than any act 3rd in the last two years.

Is Wayne Coyne actually writing her stuff now? Seems its almost 100% Flaming Lips.

I hope we're not commending this? Outrageously bad!

Not a great way of putting it, especially considering her attitude towards mental illness.

I don’t disagree in the sense that she is a bit different and more interesting than most major mainstream pop stars that could potentially be booked, though I find her zaniness quite contrived and often just plain offensive, rather than endearing. A bit like Wayne Coyne.

She’s got some good songs, and I echo the sentiments of appreciating the unusual topics of her new stuff, but beyond that there’s not much I actually like about them, from what I’ve heard.

Dooo It is pretty bad, but here's a couple of really nice cuts from the new album that show the Flaming Lips' influence and should show you skeptics that there's a lot to like here.

It is but I won't lie, The Lips are of no interest to me. Just not my thing. I'm not really been into a lot of Glasto Other headers shall be say and in the past, they are identically what would be chosen.

I'd watch Miley Cyrus as a sub.

It would likely be terrible with potential of awesome.

Me too, she sells enough to headline. I actually see her in a similar position to Taylor in that regard but I think she maybe has more than Taylor did. I certainly think Taylor has grown with people this year.

Has it been intimated that this album will be toured or anything? I mean her record company, having nothing to do with this album, will be pretty keen on her doing another album for them and whoever does her tours will be happier with her doing her regular set to her regular crowds rather than her weird experimental album to a probably smaller crowd.

I think people have made this leap on their own that Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz (the album title) would be the touring moniker that may or may not play Glastonbury and, after all, it'd be in a very Flaming Lips fashion to do a full album apart from anything and then move on completely from it like nothing happened. I could only see it being a permanent career move if she took some advice on career suicide from mutual Lips' pals MGMT.

It's probably a mixture of people wanting The Flaming Lips, it making the most sense release date wise (at the moment) for her to perform and that particular album "fitting" Glastonbury more than her previous stuff.

I can see her getting a good crowd regardless of what she's playing just based on her name and antics alone, and she's sure to be broadcast by the BBC, but then June is a long time away so who knows.

if she did play i imagine it'd be pretty heavy on the new album - on her last tour she played her then-current album Bangerz in it's entirety, with a bunch of covers thrown in and only two of her older songs. she seems to want to distance herself from all the Hannah Montana/America's sweetheart stuff as much as possible

this probably won't end up happening because yeah, June seems a long way away and the story will probably end up being bollocks, but she'd be an interesting booking that's for sure, and i'd definitely go see her

I can't comment too much on her music, I've not been keen on what I have heard and I've never been much a fan of some of the drama I've read about her, but I did like this .....http://m.noisey.vice.com/en_uk/blog/10-life-changing-miley-cyrus-quotes-about-boobs-from-this-six-minute-interview-clip?utm_source=idfbukI personally would go if she played, but I imagine thousands would. I love it when they announce a big mainstream act, I like the extra space you get elsewhere on site!

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
