When do we normally expect the fence build to start? I can't remember, and where does it normally first come into view on the camera?

Start of May. Last time started around the top of Pennards so was on the camera pretty quickly.

More long drops spotted!

I think maybe after Easter it'll ramp up a bit. More activity in the Greenpeace field, and Glastonbury On Sea.

Definitely getting busier.. 10 weeks to go!

I asked the fence/track suppliers when their build might start and got this back on Monday.

Wonder if they're supplying equipment for the Pylon work for Hinkley Point C as well.   You certainly won't miss these new pylons when you head down the M5 for the festival. They look like massive Ski Lift posts going along all of the Somerset Levels!

Nope its generally following the route of the M5 from Bridgwater to Avonmouth/Seabank Powerstation

Ah, those ski lift ones... They were supposed to be the final replacement for all the supergrid ones from the 50's/60's were'nt they (remember seeing a pic of them in the news some years ago), at least where they cound'nt be buried?

Which line runs through the site - the Bridgewater or Chruchill one?

it's the bridgewater one, if you're bored (and the co-ords work in the link) this is a map of the main power lines:

Fun Fact: If you glance out of the side window of your vehicle going down the M5 as you pass over, I think its the Huntspill Drain, you can see a perfect alignment all the way to the Tor on a clear day.

A moist run today. Quite refreshing.

Very busy on site. All the gubbins is out and laying beside each longdrop site.

The little white flags are out marking where the traders go etc

Red gate is full of containers.

Track levelling is going on all over the site which makes for a great level running surface.

Each area has stuff appearing as they start to lay things out.

I love driving over the track- especially the metal stuff. It really feels like the beginning of the festival when you get that far into the car park!

Is that a longdrop pit? What the hells down there - it looks like a doorway to somewhere for gods sake...!

It is the longdrops pit by avalon crossroads. They are all being pumped out and the longdrops are palleted by each ready for assembly. The thing at the bottom may be where pop up pirate hides.
