Is this still the thread where we can throw lineup release day and time suggestions out there?

If so can someone please suggest today so I have an excuse to do nothing but refresh this website?

Cheers

I'm game with today. Long, boring day in store so refreshing efests would be a good way to eat up time :P

May be wrong but was it Outerlimits who called the announcement day last year?

Wasn't it Neil? He found out at the emerging talent night at the working mens club?

Or was it Neil who said the day then outerlimits who said the exact time?

Deftones to headline John Peel? That would go down a storm.

Edit: with me at least.

Now we're talking.

Would love a couple of heavier bands slotted in somewhere. I think Deftones are the type of band who would take a smaller slot to play a major festival like Glasto too.

Is there any particular reason why we're getting hyped for an announcement today? Or just collective wishful thinking?

The thingy shows there is no logic to announcements. We decided today seems like a good idea

It's the last day before the festival office will go home for Easter, so a case of wishful thinking. I still think it will be the 14th (3 weeks today), as it's the most popular lineup day on "The Thingy".

Pretty much, however as someone mentioned the other day (think it was maybe FloorFiller) the amount of self-confirmations we've had from Adele onwards would suggest things are moving quickly behind the scenes.

While today would be great I think the thing with James' interview being pre-recorded with a view to being broadcast next week makes next week more likely.

Sorry :(

However I'm (for absolutely no reason) fairly confident we'll get it before the 14th this year. The fact all 3 headliners are announced makes me think they'll be ahead of the game this year.

I get the sense that after the drama with the Foos, all the Kanye petition crap and the last minute Who booking of last year they're making a concerted effort to make things seem more planned and in control this time around.

It did come across as an absolute cluster fuck last year. Hopefully you're right and their mentality is to get it out earlier this year. They don't want to give the appearance that they are the mercy of other people. They should be the festival that bands are desperate to play, not the festival that is panicking at the last minute trying to get things sorted.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.

    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
