  1. You sorted that quick 😆 Fair play though - I definitely thought a FV hospitality ticket would have been harder to come by for the typical punter. You must have had a good contact there 👍
  2. This has been done to death and there's even another active thread on a 'queue' system which would basically be a lottery. As many have said, all it would mean is probably 2x or 3x more casuals trying and an even lesser chance of tickets. A different kind of chaos...
  3. Definitely a trend that seems to be aligned to the younger crowd at events these days. Started by Boiler Room really but particularly in DnB now there are more and more '360' events with part of the crowd behind the decks, and I guess with everything so online now it's more about being seen there than the actual experience. A perfect example being the kid from the Chase & Status Boiler Room who went viral and has been all over their social media, on stage with them at the Brits etc etc.
  4. I think thousands of ticketless people would pay that price without much thought. The problem is the tickets aren't actually readily available for that amount, and 3, 4 or 5 grand is a bit more difficult.
  5. Hoping to get there this summer for either the Critical Sound or 1985/Alix Perez all-dayers.
  6. Went to C&S at Drumsheds on Friday night and was pretty underwhelmed by the whole experience - and having looked on social media that looked like the general feeling too. The majority of it was caused by the venue itself. Doors opened at 6 with the curfew supposedly at 10.30. We turned up at about 7.10 after getting away from work. By the time we were past the various queues / security lines, it was 8.15 when we were actually in. Not a great start when it was already a short night - and then it looked like we were barely getting 2 hours of music. The queues obviously weren't helped by everyone turning up in a tight time period, but surely they could have different / more entrances. Some of the funnels were ridiculously narrow when you're expecting thousands of people to pass through within 90 - 120 minutes. I thought maybe we had just timed it badly but I've seen comments from people getting to the venue at 6 and basically missing all of Lens' (warm up DJ) set anyway - I don't think she finished until 8. By the time we got to the main room it was about 8.30. We saw 15 mins of Flowdan which was pretty flat - think everyone would have just preferred some drum & bass. He finished at 8.45. There was then 30 mins of set up / emptiness before C&S came on, with no music and spells of boos/whistling from the crowd as everyone frankly got bored. C&S come on at 9.20 and we're then thinking 'are we only getting an hour?!' The set itself was decent and they couldn't have done much better pulling out some old classics and getting guests like Becky Hill, Tom Grennan, Ardee on. The new front man/MC isn't a patch on Rage though. We stood about 3/4 back in the centre for the first 30 minutes and the sound was pretty terrible - I'm not sure if it was a mixing issue but we all noticed how tinny it was and the tracks weren't coming through properly. We then moved a bit forward into one of the side channels which was a lot better, but still not as good as Printworks. I was at Wembley Arena last Saturday for a gig and even the sound there was levels above Drumsheds. C&S ended up playing past the supposed curfew, up until about 10.50. Getting out of the venue and back to Meridian Water station then took over an hour, moving at a snails pace before repeatedly getting held in the last alleyway to 'regulate' train and taxi queues. When we finally got to the station we just missed a Liverpool Street train that barely had anyone on it. On the train home we then realised we had spent as much time queuing to get in/out of the venue as we had being in there. There were a few others on the train who had the same experience and loads more on social media by the looks of it. Not to say those nights aren't a lot more difficult to manage than all-dayers but I think Friday night will have put a fair few thousand off from ever going back...
  7. Another question from me I can't see a definitive answer to online - for Oxfam when do you need to be onsite for? The Tuesday? Currently trying to cajole two mates in for the 1st Feb madness.
  8. This might have been answered before, but what is the deal if you had a spot with Oxfam and then got lucky in the resale?
  9. Not sure about only 4 teams having a chance but I agree with this! If people are that bothered about watching a last 16 game whilst at Glastonbury, watch it down your local and put your tickets back in the resale for the rest of us....
  10. As has already been mentioned, they literally just dropped one of the most watched Boiler Room sets ever, so ‘terrible’ is a bit harsh. I do think they are almost too active though, which doesn’t help. They were on the festival/live circuit this year and now with a new album out + Drumsheds in Feb etc, you’d think next summer would be big too. Hoping they focus on live shows as it’s what sets them apart to most.
  11. When people use the auto-refresh, how do you stop it refreshing when it enters the ticket buying page? Or does it know when to stop refreshing if the URL changes?
  12. For the Loo Crew, I assume that just involves the cleaning of all the parts of the toilets that punters use? And not some sort of involvement with the toxic waste? Either way, I think that is one volunteering option the other half won't be so keen on.
  13. FFS this was a bad read for the no ticket comedown. Agreed on The Temple - sunset or sunrise is pretty special from the bleachers!
  14. This might be a stupid question but is there any truth to general location being a factor in ticket success? Me and my GF were talking about how we know a lot of people out of London/the UK who got through this year.
  15. On the ticket holding page yesterday were you allowing the 20 seconds countdown to reach 0 each time and auto refresh? The overwhelming majority of people manually hit refresh on the page (also known as F5) every few seconds to increase the chance of it reloading onto the ticket purchasing page. If each refresh is a ticket to the raffle, most people think refreshing as many times possible is the best way to win.
  16. Thanks Stuie and BP, very helpful. Having 'some experience' with WaterAid - like campaigning or fundraising for them? I think this is what appeals. I've always operated on pretty minimal sleep at festivals and the Glasto programme is so packed that missing out on a good set or two would always be outweighed by actually being there and the rest of the experience.
  17. The quoted post on this page where one person got through for 6 groups on his own? That is not luck and I can't really see how that is fair in anyone's eyes. I didn't get tickets yesterday, extending my streak of not getting through since 2019. I have sucked it up the last couple of years but yesterday was pretty galling with rumours of the hack and massive syndicates hoovering up tickets. Most people I know who got tickets were part of groups of 30-40 with 100% success rate. That 'luck' seems pretty concentrated.
  18. 99% sure I am going down this route after another unsuccessful year in the main sale. Have signed up to the obvious ones already - Oxfam, Water Aid, Greenpeace - but will do some more digging this week. I am glad to hear most of the processes start in 2024 so hopefully a lot of the less keen people after ticket FOMO yesterday lose interest. My main question is, if you go the volunteering route and aren't too picky with who you go with, what's the likelihood of being successful? Appreciate the competition is probably going up every year, but would be interesting to know how hard it was for 2023.
  19. Think I'd rather a 4am-er rather than waiting around until early afternoon on Monday! The 5/6am trudge back to the tent is pretty bleak when you know the magic is all over for another year.
  20. If you really have no interest in any electronic music/DJs I reckon you'd probably struggle to get enough out of Boomtown to be honest. You would be confined to a handful of stages on what has become a minority part of the line up now. The first year I went to Boomtown (2018) the line up had Limp Bizkit, Enter Shikari, Gorillaz, Idles, Hactivist, Feed The Rhino and a load more spread across the different districts. The second time I went, last year, I can barely remember seeing a 'band' of any sort apart from Gentleman's Dub Club. There obviously were options, but not to the level on offer before the line up had a rejig and all moved down to the bowl after Covid. If you're more into your rock I reckon something like a 2000 trees or similar would be a better fit.
  21. Definitely not underground. He's doing three nights at Ally Pally in September but probably has the following now to sell out Wembley Arena or The o2 a couple of times over. Tickets for his Ally Pally dates literally sold out in seconds. I think just the new layout alone confirms this. There isn't the space down in the bowl for an act like Gorillaz or some of the other big names that were at Lions Den before. When Prodigy headline Grand Central next year they will have to put a big DJ name on Origin or it would overcrowd quite easily I reckon.
  22. I actually feel like the chance might have gone now. Unless there's more budget to play with next year - is he too big for BT?
  23. For the initial sales you can buy up to 6 tickets a transaction, so basically anyone in a group will be 5x more likely than you to get a ticket if you're trying solo. 100% your best bet is to find a solos group, either on here or Facebook, to team up with. I think nearer the ticket date time there are even spreadsheets for ticket groups you can get involved with on here. To be honest, if I was going to Glasto solo I would sign up as a volunteer early - you then get your ticket and additionally have the bonus of doing shifts with people/meeting more likeminded people organically in the volunteer campsites/bars etc.
  24. The majority of Britain still loves to eat meat - when punters have the choice the catering is always going to mirror the demand.
  25. I reckon if they removed all dance music now it would struggle to sell out. Make the whole fest veggie/vegan and it would still sell out on ticket day imo.
