Headliners 2016

Realise the majority didn't want this - and I understand, 4 times is quite unimaginative - however as last year was my first year, and both my daughter and I like Coldplay, I for one am happy with the confirmation. As others have said, plenty of other options available, but still think Pyramid will be packed for this.

"Coldplay headlining Pyramid" is becoming quite iconic... so bit of a bucket list thing for me... sorry.

I'm with you on this.  It seems all the rage to hate Coldplay and Muse etc.  But I for one (with my wife) will be very much looking forward to this AND to Muse if/when they get announced.  Both acts are brilliant live.

Superb.

I think the disappointment is largely due to this being Coldplay's umpteenth headline appearance and if Muse also healdine it will be their third time. Sometimes reruns just lose their appeal. I'm sure Coldplay will will draw a massive crowd, and that crowd WILL enjoy it, but I've already seen it and do not feel the need to replay the experience. Looking forward to being elsewhere on the sunday, but I hope the Pyramid crowd have a fine old time.

I really wish I had had a bet on Chris Martin feat. Coldplay as the headliners now ages ago. When the odds were good that is.

Well done to all that backed them. Means that I don't have to watch the Pyramid headliner on the Sunday now :D

Beige.  I've kind of lost hope of a great Sunday Pyramid headliner since Stevie in 2010 - but in other ways it's good to get the opportunity to wander the site & say goodbye without feeling like I might be missing something amazing (other stage announcements TBA aside of course).

Has anyone headlined 4 times before? That must be a slightly underwhelming record.

I think it is a record.  Van Morrison has done 3.  Muse + Radiohead could be doing their 3rd this year and Damon has done it 3 times, but I don't think anyone has done 4 before.

It is a record for the pyramid , says it on the press release

knowing Chris Martin's ego he will have written it into their contract that they are the only act ever allowed to headline 4 times :P

yeah i'm sure they'll put on a great show and i'm sure a large % of the festival will be there and loving it

i'll be at West Holts with a brothers enjoying Earth Wind and Fire

I hope your wrong mate as I am hoping EWF are Sat night headlines so I can see both of them! Missed Coldplay in 2011 to see the Chems instead.

What in the name of god is this?

" Their 2011 set was later voted the Top Glastonbury Moment of the event’s long history by BBC Radio listeners. "

What you forget is: that most people are cloth eared plebs
