I'd echo that. Mistakes happen, mate. Especially when dealing in whispers. Thanks for trying and putting it out there, it makes the build up so much more thrilling! You've still got a hell of a rep for advance info.

as I always make clear, I can never know with certainty until the official announcement is made.

I'm right pissed off about Coldplay being wrong, tho, as it's the first time that the checkings I do have failed me. I'll of course be reviewing those to try and find where the flaws are.

i bet you must of thought it was an odd booking to start with?

It has definitely seemed as if it has been harder to get news across the board this year. With this false news that Neil was given and a throw-a-way comment by that bloke who runs IOW (Who's name escapes me) - I am leaping to the wild conclusion we are going to get someone out of the ordinary.

Elton wouldn't even fit as he plays a lot.

Im going for someone to not even be a Rumour at the moment to do the job.

Who... I don't know!!!

Slightly, just because they'd played so recently, tho I had several very good reasons to believe it as correct.

Could it possible be misinformation? I've been peddling the theory that Coldplay was leaked as a deliberate cover for someone more sensitive. Does that strike you as plausible?

It's no impossible, but I don't think that's it.

Good news this.

If Neil is not confident of it being Blur, then I'd have a hunch it'll be someone else who could fit the 'legendary' category.

Just guesswork after that... Elton John, ELO, The Who, Fleetwood Mac despite their dismissal of the idea, Stone Roses in a one-off, Roger Waters doing The Wall, The Cure, Prince finally, Kate Bush (though that seems almost impossible), Pearl Jam (no point getting my hopes up), Madonna (no thanks).

If it's The Killers or Kings of Leon then this good news has rapidly become anything but good news

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
    • A lot of people have said this online but does the Marvel world need new cities to play with? New York seems to be a target of all the villains to the point where you wonder why anyone in that world still lives there. Much as you can accuse me of overthinking it I guess haha.    I do agree that The Void is a compellingly different villain in many respects given the superpower is trapping people in their most traumatic memories. Shame in some respects the film came out in the post-Endgame funk Marvel seems stuck in and a lot of people missed out on it.    Speaking of, I rewatched Infinity War the other day. First time I think I've seen it since seeing it in the cinema on its opening day. Holds up pretty well imo - I have issues sometimes with ensemble casts and jumping between 4/5 storylines but it felt this one got the balance right and also properly explored Thanos. So it was good.
