Agree WHP was the weaker this year, but it's 18 years established now - albeit growing in size across 4 venues - so has earned its rep. I can't pretend to know much about London clubbing but does Drumsheds have the same backstory? Genuine qu.

Also, Manchester is definitely having a moment right now (nice to live nearby completely by accident). It'll no doubt pass, it's the north after all. We're not allowed nice things.

Drumsheds is just seen as the replacement for Printworks - which was massively popular.

A lot of people have done it once and despise it as well.

The location is 100% the biggest issue - Printworks was in the perfect location (between Hackney way and like Clapham area, which has a lot of younger people in along with brixton etc) and on the night tube. Drumsheds is in a decent location for hackney where a good proportion of potential visitors might go but for anyone who needs a mainline train home its a nightmare in comparison to Canada Water

I think the lower capacity of printworks with many more events made it more likely people could want to do multiple visits.

I live smack bang in the middle of South London, they have some good lineups at Drumsheds but it's miles away so would a total mission to get home. Same story if you live west, south west or north west. Printworks was much better connected, for me the Windrush line to West Croydon and a bus straight home.

To be fair I live in SE15 and didn’t find it that hard to get home from this weekend, was train, vic line and another train, I was home by 12.30 which considering it took me an hour to get out get to locker etc I didn’t think was that bad. The lack of anywhere to go for the quick comedown pint afterwards is more of an issue

Yeah the lack of anything near it is shite. Surprised a warehouse brewery hasn't opened or something to capitalise - guess a pub may open for the new development eventually, guess theres not enough people near meridian water just yet to support one

Think the whole Drumsheds situation is more complicated than they first thought but hopefully the reduced number of events in Spring will be a success and they can build again from there.

Picked up tickets this past week for a couple of nights in March. Avalon Emerson presents 9000 Dreams at Outernet on 29th and Young Marco b2b Sasha at Archives on 8th. Not been to either venue so anyone else planning to go or been before?

I listened to the Carl Cox boiler room ibiza set from the villa today, 45 mins of the big man absolutely beasting it even though it's what, 10- 15 years old...

My god I love carl cox

Speaking of older ones I've been revisiting Twisted by Hallucinogen quite a lot this year. The album is almost 30 years old and it's still astounding.

They did that this year too - so not sure it will have much impact

My friend, we both know your schedule doesn't allow for idle campsite chit chat! Happy to take recs for similar here or on the group though. 😁

Saw this and thought of this thread. More than just Graeme which it appears in the link. One set from start to finish.

Can't think of much worst than David Morales all night long! OK, i can, but not one to a buy a ticket for.

Graeme Park will be a journey though

Can’t wait for his return to the farm this year.

Theo parrish at fabric today / tonight! The hype is beginning! Could be in for one of the classic occasions

Went last night for Laurent Garnier in room 2, it was sensational! The man is a master on the decks. Room 2 was packed though, they had a queue to get in up until 5:30 which I’d never seen before there

Woah! Saturday at next year's Junction 2 is pretty spectacular. Dax J b2b Helena is the set of dreams. And if DVS1 can play there, blimmin' get him on the Farm, Block9 Team!

Thoroughly recommend J2 to anyone. I've been to the last two year's events and the vibe has really improved since I first went some time ago. That stage under the M4 is spectacular and they do seem to be improving the smaller stages every year and making them interesting.

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
