ah well there goes my theory then

and there also goes my theory

ignore me folks. it's gonna be Madonna isn't it

Oh wait, I might be thinking of Arcade Fire and Zane Lowe as they did a session with him around the same time. When they were on Jo Whiley's show she asked something about UK festivals the following summer and Win said something along the lines of "get your wellies ready". The full bit about Glastonbury was revealed afterwards though.

tbh if Madonna doesn't announce herself tomorrow in her interview that'll be the end of her chances as far as i'm concerned - would be weird for her to have an interview so close to the announcement and say nothing. then it'll just be the final battle between Prince and Flo (and the now outside bet of Swift)

also, i doubt her ticket sales could be factored in to it - she will've known the risks of booking a fest before her own tour, and i doubt she can say 'don't announce me until I've sold loads more tickets'. Glasto announce late enough as it is

Glasto is late enough but would they want a repeat of last year and losing a headliner last minute? If that is what happened of course.

Neil literally already said that he'd heard from sources who claimed to be well-placed that it definitely isn't Madonna..yes he jumped the gun on Coldplay and appeared to be caught out by the Kanye announcement too, but nevertheless I still have full faith he'll be right on this occasion.

Madonna's people aren't gonna go leaking out this kind of info this late in the game though so it's a tough one to call. she probably isn't the headliner, but if she was, it wouldn't just be getting blabbed about

I feel like there has to have been a greater emphasis of lying in the music biz if neil has heard from lots of people saying "it isn't someone" more than "it is someone".

Just from what he's posted it seems more people have been telling him who it isn't than who it is. Maybe in the past Glasto bookers / people who are connected have found that flat out denying a band probably quells the rumours of the secrets more than saying "it could be, or no comment" etc.

Has Neil ever been wrong when he's said an act isn't playing? I'm sure he said he had heard it definitely isn't Madonna

I'm going to stick with it definitely isn't Madonna

there seems to be a whole other level of secrecy going on this year though. i trust Neil, and hope he is right, but what with the Coldplay debacle and him saying he didn't think it was Kanye on the day Kanye was announced, it's clear they've tightened things up leak-wise

but yeah, here's hoping he's right and his best guess of Prince comes to fruition!

I'm not sure what his wording was but an hour before Kanye West was announced he said he didn't think Kanye was playing.

Whether it was "I don't think Kanye will be there" or a "Kanye west is not there" I can't remember. I feel like it was the former though

I didn't think he had said anything until after he was announced, I'm sure he said after he was announced that he had heard that it wasn't going to be Kanye during the day but hadn't said anything, I'm probably wrong though

We have no evidence of Madonna, this interview could be just coincidental

it's primarily to promote her (poorly selling) new album which has just been released and recently announced tour.

whether or not it's related to Glastonbury remains to be seen, but a big reason for her doing this interview is definitely PR for her own stuff.

Neil said he didn't think kanye would be there. It was a guess as much as we are all guessing. He may have said he heard it wasn't him from an unreliable source and that his guess/feeling wasn't a certain.im sure it's the exact same stance he took with madonna last week. (That stance may have changed now)

As neil always says, when he says something, it's not 100% certain, so if he says he thinks madonna isn't playing it doesn't neccesarily mean she isn't playing.

Yeah the 'do an Arcade Fire' thing is incorrect unless it means Jo Whiley is going to ask her a question about a festival she's heard she might be playing. And that definitely won't happen as Jo Whiley will be reading questions given her by Madge's people. Just grasping at straws init.

Kanye was Neil's best guess (i think?) - Madonna is info he's been given. slightly different

here is what Neil said, about 20mins before he was officially announced:

http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/186474-headliners-2015/page-832#entry4594594

I'll just point out that while I've had a couple of weakish things to suggest Kanye (a while ago now and i've mentioned them before, they aren't new ones), I've also had something else - stronger - which suggests that it's not.

None of these things are really meaningful by themselves anyway - but I just wanted to put out there that everything is not in one direction.

Personally - from nothing but a hunch - I don't think it'll be Kanye. It's looking like we'll perhaps only get to find out when they announce.

    • No dramas man, I just like to follow others journeys as well. Get the inspiration, give out inspiration and the outdoors is the clear the head place to do it. I'm heading out for a easy trail run today I think, 10k- 10 mile we'll see how we go. I've got a half marathon in October I'm well unprepared for hahs
    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
    • I can see them all merging along with the Tory’s . Restore curently couldn’t muster enough candidates to be a viable option . I lasted 4 mins and couldn’t watch any more . Lowe is just dull along with racist
