So 5 years ago we had Stevie and this year we're faced with Florence potentially.

Laughable.

5 years before Stevie there was Basement Jaxx. And 5 years before that, Travis!

And lest we forget (although I know they weren't planned) that five years ago brought us the glory or Gorillaz...

I've only left 2 Pyramid headliners. They were one. Oasis in 04 were the other.

Yeah Damon, I get what you're trying to do, its interesting and a bit different which is genuinely cool, but..... Wayne Coyne is singing on top of a bloke in a 7ft bear costume 100 yards way.......

I have a lot of useful/less Glasto facts at arms reach at the moment. From Glasto themselves.

Interesting.

I would love to know how they the know its 30% newbies each year, or is this only a new thing they could do since the registration process was implimented and thus its only relevant to recent years.

It's estimated / best guess. But will be based on new registrations and their success at getting tickets I would imagine

This info isn't hard to find, most of it will be on the Glasto website

They already did U2 and Metallica

Lionel is on his way

Freddie, Whitney and Wacko are dead

Axel and Prince are fucking insane

Duran Duran, Bon Jovi, the Bangles, A-ha etc etc are shite ;)

Pretty much leaving the Mode, Madge, the Mac, Elton and AC/DC................meh

It's Bon Jovi this year isn't it?

I hate myself for saying it.

Who does everyone think are going to be the legends of the 00's in 20 years time?

Good question. Many will disagree with any answer anyone gives, but I'd say Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Beyonce seem pretty unarguable. More speculative ones based on my taste that I think could get a bit of a reappraisal or just general building of audience in later years: Bombay Bicycle Club, British Sea Power, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Metronomy, The National.

Really hard to judge actually.

*Gorillaz was ace post.*

Albarn, Lou, half the Clash, Womack, Shaun William Ryder, Mark E, Snoop D O DoubleG, De La etc giving us some cod (larf!) environmental treatise in nautical gear.

Utterly mental and never to be repeated.

    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
    • I think the age of tickets flying out day one for a lot of artists is drawing to a close now, especially with the prices.   There will be exceptions of course, I was surprised how quickly Phoebe Bridgers sold out
    • Tbf they sold out the mainland European shows that follow this UK tour more or less immediately so I guess much of Europe will be stadiums for them next summer regardless and they might want to bring any stadium bespoke production here, even if it's just one night at a London stadium or whatever.    I like the new album and wanted to see them again but £150 for a standing ticket is ridiculous and all the sub-£100 price categories sold out. So you know, would like to go but guess I'm waiting for any last minute dropouts. Tbf I would hazard a guess of these 4 UK shows in November that more tickets are sold than unsold and by the time of the show it'll be, if not a full house, close enough.
    • I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility    It would feel like a bit of waste for their first set in the UK for 12 years be an hour and 10 mins as a sub    A lot of people will buy day tickets just for FNM
