There is going to be an album, is there not?

Oops, appears so according to the net. No doubt this one will be full of radio-friendly hits for the Pyramid and consequent stadium tour to follow.

I think they just think they have got a great booking that the punters want.

The sad thing is, most people probably will be well happy.

Most people are idiots Russ ;)

Yeah that's probably true, I just wonder whether it means that they've failed to get one of the 'big acts' touted so far - in which case there's potential for someone decent I guess.

if the headliners are in fact Foos, Coldplay and Taylor Swift, what are we thinking about Florence then? subbing Coldplay, or just not there at all?

I'm not sure where else is left for her to play if she doesn't headline Glastonbury apart from T and I'd be surprised if she subbed festivals again.

yeah it'd be odd if she returned to UK festivals not headlining, but it just seems very weird that she wouldn't be booked for Glastonbury considering how much she loves it and hasn't played since 2010

I think they're shite and would be nowhere near the mainstage if they play BUT they have released 2 albums since last playing

And with another on the way.

I really don't see what the problem is here. They are well established within the festival and this sounds like it may be their last chance to take to the Pyramid. I think we have to accept that you can't have three acts who've never headlined before every year.

Maybe the Eavii have heard about her walking around with big entourage, pushing people out of the way in 2013, and giving people dirty looks when those people loudly admonish them because they and their friends and some other people they'd never met before but seemed like they didn't deserve it got pushed by them. Maybe the Eavii heard that story and given her a lifetime ban for unGlastonburylike conduct.

if Coldplay are in fact thinking of packing it in after this album, then having their UK festival swan song at Glastonbury does seem appropriate, but that's the only way this booking seems reasonable and not extremely lazy and poor

They've made so much money, toured loads and managed to squeeze one last successful album out. Ghost stories did very well, but I do feel like the band feel done.

Glastonbury took a punt and got them big, if this is their swan song then it makes perfect sense.

I hear the sound of mardy's ticket falling onto the resale pile.

This could be the final straw that decides it for him.

DON'T DO IT MARDY. It could still be prince on sunday.

Place would be slightly worse without you there. Slowly paving the way for more coldplay in years to come.

He's gonna go for a boozy wander with me. Rest easy young Sir.

Some say eFestivals (the source) is reliable, some say it's not..In any case they're not the ones selling tickets obviously, so not an official source, plus the way the article is phrased sounds a bit like wishful thinking more than anything else. I mean we could easily have written the same.

Sort 'em out Neil!

I mean... they think you were 'wishfully thinking' about Coldplay headlining ffs

    • No dramas man, I just like to follow others journeys as well. Get the inspiration, give out inspiration and the outdoors is the clear the head place to do it. I'm heading out for a easy trail run today I think, 10k- 10 mile we'll see how we go. I've got a half marathon in October I'm well unprepared for hahs
    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
    • I can see them all merging along with the Tory’s . Restore curently couldn’t muster enough candidates to be a viable option . I lasted 4 mins and couldn’t watch any more . Lowe is just dull along with racist
