hehehe, this is all very similar to Kremlinwatching during the cold war. Trying to work out who's in and who's out, basically on the strength of fuck all.

At least we know the real reason you come back now.... ;)

Some good and valid points here.

I've found the lack of communication in general from the festival this year rather odd. The balance window had come and (nearly) gone with barely a mention on the official site.

Like this news article at the start? http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/2015-ticket-balance-payments-faq/

Half the country is still on holiday and possibly GFL !

So no announcements this we methinks

We're not all teachers and students with 2 weeks off!

Hands up .. Who'd take Flo and her machine right now as the 3rd headliner if it meant we got a line up tonight?

(This could be a bargaining tactic used in future to ease the pain of a weak booking!)

Not me. Hands way down.

Michael definitely stretches the truth a little sometimes from what I've heard.

Pensioner stretches truth shock!

Sounds like my dad.

Lol

since we're swapping GNR experiences...i was at this gig...well the first bit, the Giants Stadium portion. lovely august evening in 1988. and after them it was Deep Purple and then Aerosmith (when they hadn't turned into ballad top 40 band)...anyone at the Donnington gig at the end of this clip? they were great. only time i've seen them.

Its interesting to note that the Kanye and Foos threads have been off page 1 for a long time. No one seems to really give a shit.

Prince gets confirmed, I'm going to be like that mental annoying Springsteen fan Jens from a few years back, I warn you now.

I'm surprised at Kanye's thread not being bigger, but surely in the case of both, that's not necessarily a bad thing? Means there's not much argument over either.

Theres nothing worse than no being ignored. Being loved or hated is at least being acknowledged.

Just in case anyone is seriously thinking about GnR, don't forget Emily's comment about 'the Foos are the rock headliners this year'.

I mentioned GnR a few weeks back as a joke, as I'd seen a rumour that Axl and Slash were talking again, but even if they did decide to play again, it would take time to organise. Next year? Who knows, but surely not this year.

    • Elastica posted last night teasing a return, wonder where they would play if they reformed?
    • I agree but anyone under Rodrigo would be a sub in reality, that day would sell out in under an hour whoever is subbing, in which case Wolf Alice would make a lot of sense   The more unrealistic part of the scenario at this point is Rodrigo headlining
    • All you can say is...     If he couldn't convince nations that really would've benefitted from the short-term hit of an up-front £50mil payment by this time next year, what hope did he have?   Guess we'll now just have to monitor and see if this could derail Infantino's plans to be re-elected FIFA President next year.
    • Spider-Man: Brand New Day   Highlight was a bloke reacting to the post-credit scene by going "Holy f**k it's Tobey Maguire!" despite the scene having no reference to him at all. Which made my close-to-full screening of the film laugh a lot.   Film was pretty good. It was interesting as much as an exploration of the ramifications of the end of No Way Home and being about isolationism and male loneliness, which I thought it actually did quite well. Though I do ponder if I liked it as much as the other 3 Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Sadie Sink was good tbf, while I also liked Jon Bernthal as Punisher, enough that I might go watch his Disney+ shows.   Seem to have had a Marvel kick recently having also watched Thunderbolts and Shang-Chi, both of which I thought were pretty good.
    • Wolf Alice won't get headliner for Reading either, they will sub if they play, that is where their level has stopped I feel. Both TFG and Skyvip for the big shows this year was just a stretch too far. Every headliner this year is bigger than them too I'd say.   Agree with Capaldi I don't think Yungblud will be at Reading. I would guess Bludfest 3 or Download.
